This is weird fantasy and sword & sorcery. It feels older than it actually is, in style, while also (oddly) feeling ahead of its time.

A horror tale of perseverance. I enjoyed this, even when it threatened to drift into strange moralising. At those times it was the beauty of the grim thing that kept me reading
