Definitely a historical novel and very well written. Different from the style of books I usually read. Different but very good. More serious feeling but not too heavy? The setting felt so real.

MC is 16, pampered, sheltered, and from a relatively wealthy family so... the character is expectedly pretty emotionally immature. He's an a**hole to the people who care about him. There was some character development and I'm sure he's on the road toward emotional depth and empathy in his 20's but the book is not that long...

Devin is precious and I wish eir story line had started sooner. E's the only reason I finished tbh. I relate.

This was great! I read it less then a day. Now I have Daya's The Difference on repeat,

A fun historical romance. Lots of glancing at each other and tension which is my favorite part of historicals. Slow burn, which is my favorite type of romance.
The overall plot doesn't wrap up since this is going to be a series but the character story wraps up nicely so who cares what those other side characters were up to.

This was a wildly hyper, fun, Loud, happy book. The MC is super excited the whole time.

I think I'm too asexual to appreciate the pacing in the first 1/4th of the book. Also had to suspend logic a bit. But I have no problem reading books that require suspended logic.

It felt like it would have made more sense as a musical then a book tbh.

Cute and fun. I liked the pacing and the inner dialogue.

Ending felt a bit rushed and weird but overall a good read. Good dialogue again. I felt like there were a lot less active characters in this one.

I really enjoyed the main character's dialogue in this book! Inner and outer dialogue. It was super fun

I love character driven plots so much. Falling in love with the characters is always my favorite part of reading. Also love the enemies to lovers thing, road trips, and finding yourself.

A lot of boners..and vampires..and some pretty cool magic.

I super binge read this well written rollercoaster ✨

So good! So good! So good! I loved the writing style. Adding this author to my follow list.

This is the first audio book I've listened to. I should have started listening to books a long time ago. Really enjoyed it. I like Ron Butler's voice a lot.
Listening is so much more intense.

Really enjoyed the story. Want to read more by this author.

I basically read this in one sitting

I like how everyone's personal grief and pain was handled. It wasn't compared. It just belonged to each person. Maybe each year I'll heal a little bit too. Loving people hurts but it's also really good.

Edited after the story sat in my head for a few days.

I don't like how the thing with his brother was handled at the end. His best friend just went through a traumatizing experience and now you come in here and tell him your brother is in jail for murdering a transwomen?? Like that could have been you, that could have been your best friend...the reaction seems not right. Then they are all just smiling and putting up his pictures again. Wtf.

I cried off and on for the entire book. People are messy. He was just running away from himself without succeeding. Which I get. Living too much in your own thoughts. Gotta pick something light next. Wish there had been an epilogue though.

I don't relate to the strong desire to pair off and reproduce, but it was a really interesting story.

I'd only be ok with this alien rescue mission if I wasn't a woman. Pumping out babies is not something I would ever want and living in the woods with the constant threat of rape doesn't exactly sound enjoyable either....

I'd prefer to just to die before they started salvaging the earth tbh.

The world building in this trilogy is so beautiful. One of those series where at the end you feel like you have left part of yourself behind.

I will definitely be rereading.

I check this page every couple years but it's always the same.

I loved the ending. I was crying so hard but it was how it should be. When Beloved threw himself desperately towards Fitz and onto the stone Nighteyes I completely lost it. I love them all so much.
I love how the endings of her books always feel more like beginnings.

I accidentally read book two of their series first. Oops. Time to read book one as a flashback now 🤣

The Rithmatist started of light and fluffy but was so very exciting by the end. That twist! I was screaming!!
I just finished it so I'm pretty hyped 🤪
Too bad it seems like 6-7 year between books for this series...
I do like all of Brandon Sanderson's work though so I'm excited no matter what comes out next.

A much faster read than the first book, despite the additional length. It gave me “the thrill” book reader version 😆, meaning I stayed up too late reading for several nights.
