What a mind fuck.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads. The love triangle is probably the worst thing about this book and I hope it doesn't continue.

This is not my typical kind of book I go for, but I couldn't put it down.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this book. There were some things that I felt were a bit clunky, but other than that I loved it. I love Emma as a character. She's so sweet and wholesome and totally relatable.

It was...okay?

I feel as though making the first book a novella really did the story/plot a disservice and we're missing a TON of information. I'm all for the “love at first sight” type stuff, but I felt the romance was just way too fast. Like, Romeo and Juliet had some time before they declared their love for one another.

Anyway, I am interested in reading the next book in the series and I'm curious to see how the author improves.

I feel like it could have been a liiitle bit shorter but I wasn't expecting the ending which is always fun.

What the fuck.

“You are a sexy oak tree.” Okay, I actually snorted at this line.

Overall, it was okay.

I wanted to love this, but it just wasn't it, especially with how things ended.

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars.
Someone said that Natalie is a Christian Evangelical Patrick Bateman and I can't unsee it. There were actually several points I laughed out loud with how absurd the characters inner monologue is.

I...don't even know? Zetian is pretty annoying. The overall plot was pretty good, but...eh? It was fine.

It was ok.

I don't even know. I was fascinated but it was a wild ride.

This book started off so strong and then went off the deep end into the lava pit.

That was just really unfair...

Not a typical read, but I enjoyed it. I was on the edge of my seat, I was questioning what was real. Things were wild and crazy.

God this was the dumbest shit I have ever read. I won't get into the political leanings of the author (spoiler it's pretty obvious). This honestly felt like 2.5 stories smooshed together incoherently. This book did not know what it wanted to be and it just...ends? I wish I could turn back time to before I read this book.

3.5 rounded up to 4.

Baptism of Fire more like Baptism of Snores.

I loved this, it was great, I can't wait for the next book. Please transport me to the future where this is already released!

Why did I commit to this brain rot of a trilogy?

dumb dumb dumb

No one can make me like you, Belly, but I guess you win cuz I wanna read book 2 dammit.

Beautifully written, but the overall story was kind of lacking.
