If you've ever wondered what The Bachelor would be like with teenagers in the future, look no further!!!
With double the love triangles of Twilight and half the plot of The Hunger games.
I hate to be harsh because I can see the promise of a good story teller, but this book just didn't follow through.
I was, unfortunately, disappointed with this book.
I really enjoyed the beginning and was really excited for the story that it set up. I felt as though I had read the story before, but I was okay with that, it was one of those stories I liked so much the first time I could enjoy a re-telling.
About a third of the book in the story took a sharp, and unnecessary turn. I think the author had too many ideas to fit into one story. The relationships, both emotional and physical, seemed to be an abrupt plot-after thought and took away from, instead of adding to Green's character development.
The cover is great and the description, which only covers the first third, is intriguing. But there isn't any point in reading past the first section.
One extra half star for the potential of the beginning and an extra half star for Endurance.
Let me start off by saying, this is not a good book. It is NOT original, imaginative, surprising, or thought provoking.
However, I was really entertained. I was interested and am reading the second book, which is a pretty good indicator that I enjoyed it. This book IS a quick, fun, light read and if you are looking for that, read this book.
I very much enjoyed this retelling of a classic Sci-Fi story. I liked the characters and felt for the creatures portrayed.
Also, it helps that the audio version I was listening to was read by Will Wheaten. I spit tea all over myself with the line, “Shut up Wheaton!”
I highly recommend this book for Sci-fi lovers.
From what I had heard and read about this book I was not expecting it to get so epic! I really enjoyed the intrigue and the scope of this fantasy. I can't wait to continue the series!
Also, Joscelin is probably my favorite male lead in a book, nearly ever. (And it was just so easy picture Alexander Skarsgard while reading...)
