Oh boy!
TW: Rape, Graphic violence.
I wanted to love this, I really did...and I was up until Spoilerthat very long two on one rape scene. It wasn't necessary to go on for that long...or to happen at all. It left me shaken and worried that I'd be blindsided by another one again.
Spoiler”Don't take this the wrong way, brother but I'd rather fuck a woman who actually likes me.
That doesn't sound like fun.
And it's definitely more graphic than her Small Town series for sure.
I didn't understand the connection between her training, her father and the brothers...and by the time it was revealed, I was just ready to be done with these characters.
I was able to figure out the informant though, so kudos to me, I guess?
I think I'll just stick to the Small Town series, because it's clear that this one is not for me.
(Provided by the author in exchange for an honest review)
I'll have to think long and hard about the rating for this one. On the one hand I'm very much still invested in the overall plot of the series, and this book helped it along well enough...but some of the critiques of this one are well founded.
This romance, when it finally came to full fruition, felt a bit too rushed for me. The scenes were hot as per Adrian's typical style but...idk.
Either way, can I have more of Mira please.
Below is a miss mash of my thoughts on this one. I apologise in advance.
Gay rep, fat rep, latinx rep, polyamorous rep, black rep - I am here for all of this!
Ofc even in out of space, everyone is American...of course.
This ish is explicit!!! Whew! And so free. The ‘open' in open earth is quite literally the best word to
describe this graphic novel.
I don't know what this story is but I kept on turning the pages, so the author got that right for sure.
Take away? Communication is key and open relationships are okay too, as long as everyone is clear
on boundaries
Issa cliffhanger y'all!
This story takes us inside a traveling circus, ‘freaks' and all, where we discover that someone in the outfit is a MURDERER! But it doesn't stop there. The pretend psychic discovers that she may actually be able to see the dead after all? It's a lot. A lot is happening here.
Anna, our main character and tarot card reader turned sleuth/ghost whisperer, is devastated at the loss of her twin sister and determined to find justice. I wish we got to spend more time on the actual mystery, as an unfortunate event sidetracks Anna from her mission.
If you don't mind a short graphic novel, with beautiful art, and a story that is left unfinished, then pick this one up. I'd recommend getting Volume 2 at the same time though (to avoid the frustration).
There are no simpler words to describe this book than as a tiny infinity of its own. It is understated in its beauty and brilliance. At first, you may wonder what the point of it is, because, in all honesty, nothing really happens. It isn't a grand adventure or an outright heartbreaker, but the little ways that it hurts you or lifts your spirit can almost go unnoticed if you're not paying attention. I loved every moment of it.
A nothing story told in subtle, yet beautiful, intricacies. We all need stories like these at one point or another.
(Very appropriately titled. Brava!)
oh. okay! I absolutely muuuuust read book 4! You can't leave me like this.
If you're okay with cliffhangers that leave you desperate for more, and main characters that don't react the way you think they ought to, and a villain that's really deserving of his comeuppance, then this is the series for you.
I don't quite know what I was expecting when I requested this book. What I got was a pretty okay story, unnecessary partial nudity but some soothing nature imagery. I appreciated the linkages between Pan and our character's deceased brother, and I was sufficiently curious about our mystery pianist. The best character in this whole thing was Baptistin, I could use more of him.
Idk...
I miss YoI! I really do. So when I saw that this manga came from one of Yuri's creators, it was a no-brainer. it didn't give me the same heart tugging feels, but it was a journey that I enjoyed.
The main character is a loner that's been given the opportunity to do it all over again. Does he deserve a second chance? Maybe. Does he make the best of it? He certainly tries.
The cliffhanger ending means I MUST read volume 2.
Holy cliffhanger Batman! I neeeeed to know that vengeance is wrought.

There's a lot of action, a lot to get frustrated about, but it's worth the journey. A full series wrap up is coming soon. Until then, get ready to both love and hate Alice because she is one of those main characters that leave you more than a little conflicted
