I've seen a lot of reviews saying there's a lot of the “I am not over my ex” in this book. But I could be blind. There was only around three scenes involving the ex.

Other than that it's your usual cowboy love story. City girl comes to country, meets cowboy, starts talking, falls in love and so on.

DNF @ 51% the 6th of January 2022.
I tried to get into this for A YEAR but it never really satisfied. It's like 95% rodeo, 5% anything else. Such a bore.

DNF @ around 50% - February 2022.

When you hit the 30-40% mark it's the same boring shit over and over again. I wasted a few hours of my life on this book. Good thing I didn't spend a dime on this.

3.5 too-overhyped-stars.
I somewhat had to slightly drag myself through the book. It was kind of the same hamster wheel over and over again until you hit the last part of the book. That's where we got some actual action.
Other than that the spice was chefs kiss.

The rare case where the movie is better than the book and also the rare case where the movie actually follows the book.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned

3.5 stars. Mainly due to the leave-return-leave between Marissa and Butch. Got annoying after a while. Like c'mon, your boyfriend is with the brotherhood, what did you expect?

I got major House of Night vibes from this, so if you enjoyed the first book of House of Night, you might enjoy this as well.
Also, I need a Dimitri in my life, sigh

Considering the weird nicknames they all have, the spicyness and action in the book is on point. If you're into controlling males, have fun!

This book was not as bad as the previous. The boy drama is not as bad in this as it was previous. The ending is what made it a 3-star read.

It pains me to say it, but this book was a disappointment.
If only Z knew how to settle down with one guy, instead of playing three at the same time. C'mon... it's super dull and not interesting at all to read. I was really close to dnf'ing with 56 pages left...

Kudos for the kelpie MC. Ended up boring and repetitive.

Considering I didn't have high hopes of the book, because of the previous book, I ended up enjoying it halfway through.
Beau was really likeable and he and Alys had chemistry.

After really enjoying “The Midnight Library” by the same author I wanted to give one of his other works a go and they did not disappoint.
Also, where was this book seven years ago when I needed it the most?

Lowkey wanted more Quinn action.
Coming from the previous book, we're back on the romance train.

Nice break from the romance, where it focused more on the mystery part.

If you're going into this book thinking it will explain the plot holes then you might be disappointed. If you're going into this book expecting to know more than you knew of the Skywalkers, then give it a try.
Some of the other Disney canon books as well as TV-series are woven into the book.

AHHHH!! It can't end on a cliffhanger!
If you're looking for a YA urban-fantasy with suspense with a dash of romance thrown in give it a go!

Much better than Queens Shadow also by E.K. Johnston.
In this book we get to know Padmés handmaidens better and get to know where they're from. We also get to see their friendship form with ups and downs and then it ties into The Phantom Menace.
