This started a little slow for but the last half of the book was unputdownable. A little bit of mythology in a sci fi setting with a corrupt governing system begging to be taken down! Give it a try and keep going even if you aren't sure at first.
A quick but good read. A Latin-American setting with magic and intrigue. It's nice to read a book out of the typical Western European inspired setting. Can't wait to read book 2.
If you are ready for a magic carpet ride, pick up this book. Filled with djinn magic, fights, and political intrigue. Although I am not a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, I did not mind this one as it wasn't so much enemies as hesitant to trust.
