It may be because it's been translated from French, but it felt so disjointed. Things were very abrupt. The main character was so emotional, I almost couldn't comprehend her mood swings. I was not affected emotionally by this book at all, save for frequent embarrassment. Several developments felt cliche or weird or rushed. The ending was fine, though it was pretty open ended. I gained nothing from this book. It's okay if you want a quick, easy, and unaffecting read.

"This work is both original and good. Unfortunately, what is good is not original, and what is original is not good." That quote sums up my feelings about this book.

It was simply too insane a premise to only rewrite or add in a couple sections. I finished this book not truly gaining anything from it.
