The ability to place yourself in the shoes of another write from their perspective is an amazing feat. This author does just that. These five short stories allow the reader to enter the minds of individuals so unlike the “ordinary” human. Using specific, but not overwhelming details, the author paints the scene in the reader's mind. As an English teacher, I am constantly looking for stories like these that elicit such imagination and unique writing patterns. From varying sentence patterns to increase apprehension to allowing the reader to interpret the story (as opposed to force feed them), this author hits the ambiguity of literature right on the head. Many people do not realize the subtleties of written language; it is nice to see a modern author embrace them and create a wonderful piece of literature from their formation. I will be keeping my eye out for more works from this author.
