Overall a good book; I have a few notes

1. Why is everything spelled weird? How am I supposed to say Bpfassh? Bip-fash? Bipfa-sh? Should I have gotten the audiobook?

2. I am very nervous about how Leia will be handled. There is absolutely no way her pregnancy and eventual motherhood will be handled without completely neutering her character (and probably not changing Han much).

3. This is my first time reading anything with Mara Jade before her and Luke get together. So far, I'm hopeful.

Overall, good addition to the pre-existing Star Wars canon and a good introduction to Thrawn. Extremely easy read, and the short chapter lengths make it easy to squeeze in a little each day.

One of the worst books I've ever read. If you're considering reading this, don't waste your time. The characters are two dimensional (the only adjectives the author uses for one of the female characters are "slutty" and "hot") and the prose is worse than a Wattpad BTS fanfiction. The "plot twist" was just stupid and obvious. It's a pretentious mess that only succeeded in making me wish I could give zero stars. Terrible waste of paper.

Good starting point for research into South Africa, does go on a few weird tangents; very dry.

Weird reason to not kill yourself but okay

Initially, I thought this book was good, but not better than The Fall (Camus' best novel imo). The first four parts are a solid 3.5: not bad enough to make you regret reading, not good enough to make you happy you read it. The fifth part was beautiful. It killed me. I do wish I had read it before Covid, because I feel like me tying the book to my own experiences held me back from taking in the book for what it is.
