Contemporary fiction set in Antarctica with a remote station where two people are saving seeds from around the world. Characters with their complexities, their past and their current relationships. A sinister undercurrent of outside influence and potential danger. When the power fails, it becomes a survival story. Compelling and fascinating.

The afterlife - elsewhere. A young girl ends up there and learns that she is in fact dead. But she learns that this afterlife has its upsides - making friends, finding family. Poignant, and clever, enjoyable.

Gorgeous lyrical visual language; historical, character driven narrative, richly drawn imagery, a lovely and haunting read.

The sequel to …this Kiwi crime novel is set in the fictitious town of Nashville somewhere north of Whanganui and not too far from the Raurimu viaduct. Here a man dies - did he jump or was he murdered? Young ambitious detective, dodgy baker, local drug runners, deftly written with recognisable Kiwi touches and flavour, the novel is an enjoyable read, humorous but with underlying serious crime to solve.

Heartbreaking and real; climate change, future fiction set in India, when floods have driven people to the cities; where food is scarce and the option of a visa for America becomes a dream. Another character is driven to steal to try and build a future for him and his family. Set over a week, the lives of these characters are wound together as we see that only some will survive, and at what cost.
