These are getting very repetitive. It goes: boy meets girl, sex, girl gets in some sort of trouble because of relationship with guy, guy feels guilty, guy backs away from relationship, make up nsex, girl again finds trouble, guy saves girl, they mate, sometimes baby. I feel as if the author is not developing any story line anymore. The world isn't evolving, just sex and mating. At least in the first few books there was more than just the sex and angst. The only reason I continue is in hopes of a New Species female finding a mate and getting a story.

This is urban fantasy, kinda. It feel at times a bit “normal.' This is set in modern day New York. The author really gives a diverse look into his world. We see the slums, we see the luxurious. There is a subway that takes you through hell. This has an array of things going on, I almost want to say this is more of a series of short stories all surrounding the same character, M. I am still not sure how much I like this character, but I don't dislike him either, He is magical, but there is more to him than just that. I just feel at times that he acts out of character.
I love this authors ability to draw you into the story. I don't think too many authors could have spun this story in a way that actual made me enjoy reading it. The pace seems to jump around a bit, as said above, it seems almost like a compilation of short stories that seem to revolve around the same main idea and characters.

I want to say that I HATE this cover. It looks like some hot dude taking a shit. That completely takes the “hot” right out of that sentence.
I like Brawn. He is naive to the ways of human women. He often says thing he shouldn't, things that humans think are rude, but he has no idea what he has done to anger. He is pushy, and his logic is ABC. Trisha is a woman he desires above all others, she is pregnant, obviously she is his. She doesn't see it that way. She thinks he is only settling for her to the right thing for the baby. He hasn't talked to her since they were imprisoned together for breeding purposes.
I loved the phone calls between Trisha the doc and Becca. It seems that ALL the characters in this series is getting knocked up. It is becoming a bit repetitive. I can see that if I had followed this series from the beginning that I may see it this way, bit back to back it seems too often. I would love to see a New Species female get a book. I haven't checked to see if one does, but I hope. Some of the lavey scenes seem a bit too much, too corny, too sappy. This seemed to go from “couple problems” to marriage way too quick. I don't think the father's reaction was in character to his previous action. I just think this could have been better. I was so happy to see Brawn's book. I like the woman he got. I think the problem was the flow, and at time the writing. This one for me was not Dohnerish. (I stake my claim on that word!)
In the near future global warming has thrown the world into dystopia. The plot is a but all over the place due to following so many characters.
This has potential, and it may be a better read for someone with a better understanding of U.K. slang. Thus was a bit slow moving for me, I do feel I need to add that I prefer a very fast moving plot, and am easily distracted if there isn't nonstop story progression. The thing that saved this for me? This author can write. I would love to see more from her, and expect to see great books to come.
This isn't your everyday dystopian. We don't get people freaking out. This isn't Divergent, or Hunger Games. This is more focused on just surviving and experiencing the world as it slowly fizzles out. The world is cold, and slowly getting colder.
I think this was originally a play, then a book. I liked the story, but noticed a few punctuation mistakes (periods instead of question marks, missing commas). this is the reason for 2 and 1/2 stars as a rating instead of 3 or possibly 3 and 1/2.
As a play I can see that this would be an entertaining production. Everything down to where a character looks is mapped out in the story. There is also a lot of dialog conveying most of the story. I would love to see this on stage.
This is meant for children. It has mystery, magic, suspense, and more. I could see a teacher using this as an outline and script for a school/class play.
I really enjoyed this graphics. They really add to the story, and help to help relay how a scene should look.
With changes to fix the punctuation mistakes. With added said... asked... exclaimed... the story would be better executed and understood. I would raise my rating if these changes were done. This has a lot of potential, and as I said above, it would make a great play t watch and perform.

You would think that as much as I like paranormal romance, and vampires, that I would like this series. It is well rated by other readers and has a lot of die hard fans, but I just don't care for it. The whole sexual overload that makes you pass out after mate sex is just overkill for me. The romance is decently written. The bagged blood, human blood for emergencies is common, and other series I read, and like, use the idea, but I don't like it in this series. This too me seems to contemporary with a “throw in some vampires” for sales. Not enough dark, sexy, or paranormal here, AND IT SHOULD BE. VAMPIRES, DUH! Feels too Nora Roberts-ish.
I was really hoping I would like this one due to the massive amounts of books in this series. Nope, not for me.
I ended up liking this a lot more than I thought I would. I would have given it four stars if I didn't feel that the ending seemed to drag on just a tad bit too long, it wasn't annoyingly long, I just think it could have been better if there weren't a few small filler parts.
This author has a sense of humor. The writing isn't perfect, but woth the humor it almost seems to be on purposeThe character's were likeable, flawed, and easy to relate too, not the be being a dragon part (which would be awesome if I could relate to that). I especially love the little detail where Carolyn, the female lead, can't seem to not misplace her purse, and she is also a book hoarder. Also, it must have been wonderful to finally prove so many people wrong about such a major thing like Carolyn got to.
This also got me thinking a bit. What would it be like to have someone else also living in your thoughts? A soul with no body slips into Carolyn's mind in order to keep out of the dragon version of heaven. At time this soul makes an ass out of Carolyn by taking control of her speech. Most the time she uses this to flirt.
Be aware that this is intended for adults. It contains vulgar language and explicit sex.
This is the first in a series, I will definitely be continuing. Hopefully my library has an ecopy of book two. If not I may have to put it on hold.
This the story of a families journey living with a daughter who is not typical, “on the spectrum.”
The author does a good job at conveying and demonstrating that each and every individual labelled as “on the spectrum” is different. What works for one individual may not work for another.
I love how the family grew, and how this was similar in ways to what the parents of the individuals I work for have told me of their own journeys.

I had a couple of problems with this story. First, I get that the character's knew each other a long time ago. I get that they were in love. What I don't get is the love. Maybe there should have bee flashbacks to when they were just first a budding love. Better character development would have helped to. These character's are obsessively focused on each other, it got annoying rather quick, but you would think with as much focus as there is on the relationship, I would understand how they a good for each other. TOO MUCH ANGST!
This could also use some editing. Parts need shortened, others need a more in depth explanation. The dialog has moments where the author really shines, other times it seemed to really sway from what I had how the characters had responded and acting during previous parts of the book.
In a nutshell: MEH! Needs work, but has potential.

This is not my normal type of read. This is set in the twenties and follows a women who is unhappy with her life. She is park of the upper crust of society. As glamorous as hogh society life style sounds, it is difficult. The woman's husband hire an artist to paint a mural in their house. Affairs happen, secrets threaten to reveal themselves, and people come to find their true selves.
I loves bed the authors writing. As I said above, this is set in the twenties, the author does a very good job at depicting the period, in all ways: the setting, the dialog, exec the way she writes the story.
I really grew to feel like I knew these characters. Some I found to be very annoying, some I liked, some I despised.

There is such a good book. There are two stories going on at once; One is written through pictures, the other through words. It bounces between the two.
In one story, the one conveyed through words, we have a boy trying to figure out where he belongs after the death of his mother. In the beginning of the story he is deaf in one ear, after an accident he loses all of his hearing. One night while going through his mother's belongings he finds a clue to the identity of his father. He follows this clue to New York.
In the picture story we have an ealier time setting than the other story. We have a deaf girl unhappy with her life. She spends all of her time locked away in her father's house. Her family feels it is too dangerous for her to verture out into the world. She sneaks away to the city, New York.
This is over 600 pages, but it does not take a very long time to read. Well over half of the book is comprised of page sized illustrations. I fell in love with the way this story was put together. I have never seen another book like this. I would so read more books put together in the same fashion.
This is is very easy to follow. My husband does not do well with books in the “How To” family, but this worked well for him. He does tattoos, his downfall is lettering. A friend of his recommended learning to write calligraphy style do to the way you hold the needle in comparison to how you hold a calligraphy pen. It helped a lot.
I really recommend this book. The way the different letters are grouped together with similar letters written with the same motions is nice. Brush strokes are labelled in a 1,2,3 manner.
I am a fan of Rebecca Zanetti. She is one of those author's who has never let me down.
This is book 3 in her Realm Enforcers series, a spin off from her Dark Protectors.
This has romance, a lot of paranormal, some mystery, steamy sex, smoking hot men, and strong female characters. IT is action packed, fast paced, and a perfect addition to the already wonderful series. I really, REALLY got a book boy crush going on. This book should come with a Nikolaj Veis shaped vibrator.
I think my husband now has a new favorite author for me to read when the kids are not home.

This was good. It is YA dystopian, which is what it seems like so much YA is these days. Does it stand out from the rest? In ways... Yes.
It is set in space. The teen population is very important, they are believed to get be the generation to take them all home. They are on a moon, a prison for those who were not able to meet their obligations financially.
This follows a Theo, a boy with the gift to gab with the machines. In a community where survival is so reliant on these machines, it is a wonderful gift. He does seem to get himself into some typical teenage boy situations through bad judgement. We also have a young flying prodigy, Selena. She is a very sincere and thoughtful character. I liked them both very much. These two will be easy for some teens to relate to. One is a hacker who greaty underestimates himself, the other has a not so wonderful home life, she throws herself into her studies. There are other characters too who are equally unique, but these two are the main focus. They are all well developed.
Some of these scenes in this were very vividly written. At times I felt like I was in the movie The Matrix, when they are pulled into the “real” world. The action scenes were at times difficult to follow, but it all tied together nicely.
I hope this series gets the recognition it deserves, it truly is a bit different from all the other Hunger Games/Divergent clones. This is told from a male point of view, something that is increasingly becoming less common. Rather than having the “hero” we have a group of heroes.
There are two books in this series already published, a third will join the other in the end of June this year. I will definitely be continuing this series, as will my middle child who is currently engrossed in the story. She is very much crushing on the main character... LOL. You should see the look on her face as I type that sentence.

After a bunch of government experimenting, Gavin has a really dark side to him. Twos years ago his fiance died in a car accident, he has never recovered. In the beginning of this book he is just existing, not really living. Cora, the girl who was at fault for the accident that took Gavin's fiance from him works at the bar where Gavin just became employed. At first their relationship is not too good, then i grows.
This is sci/fi romance. I loved parts of this, others were meh. The parts I loved were perfectly written, and able to really convey the feelings of the characters. I do wish that the author would have added a bit more to the plot. It was so close to being awesome. It just needed that one little thing to push it above the rest. I can't put my finger on what that thing is, but it needs it. This is still a good book, it just could be sooo much more.
This author has great potential. At time the writing was superb. The character development was good. I truly cared for these characters. At time though, I felt like the author was building up to something, but that something didn't come.
This is a solid start to a new series I plan to follow.

I want to start by saying that I am a big fan of books with mythology of any kind.
This was an interesting read, but I really expected it to be more complex. I wish the Native American mythology would have been focused n a bit more.
I did like the main character. She felt a bit young, but I appreciated how she really grew into a more confident person in the story.
I get that this is young adult, but I feel it was written a bit too simplistic. There needs to be layers and explanations as to why things were done the way they were.

Another great book by Haidji. Her writing has so much meaning to it. You experience so much more than just a story with her lyrical words. In some cases she can create such feelings with just the placement of a period.
This isn't a book you pick up expecting to read a traditional story. This is unique, I have not seen anything else written like this. When I first picked up one of her books I looked at the way the words were placed on the page and seriously doubted that a story would work written the way it was. That book was “Life into Mist,” which ended up being one of the most meaningful, emotional, and remember able books I have ever picked up.
The copy I have was a bit hard to read. What I did read was interesting. I decided to check the samples on amazon to see if the final copy also suffered from the problems I encountered tered. I a happy to report that it doesn't seem to.
This would make a good book for anyone with an interest for history, especially the American Revolution.
The title of this book gave me so much hope that I really thought I would like this, but it didn't work for me at all. I imagined a story where we got to read about a girl who traveled from story to story trying to save the world from some evil trying to rid the world of its classic literature; I expected to fall into a rabbit hole of stories .What I got was a confusing story with poor character development, writing that slowly lost its luster as the story progressed, and a blah setting. The only reason for the 2 stars is because the plot had so much potential. I truly hope that in the future this gets a rewrite to address the problems.
This started out with an orphan girl going to an academy. When I first started reading about the academy I got very excited. The buildings are named after famous authors–Lovecraft, Koontz, Poe,
etc. It sounded like the beginning of wonderfulness. I kept waiting for “magic” to happen, but it never did.
I have a dislike for the main character. At times she was shallow, then she would seem too old, too dark, or too nice. She was never consistent.
I think this book would have been better if it had been written from a different perspective. This is first person and suffers horribly from what I call the “I, I, I Syndrome.”
Recommendation: Maybe some will like this better than I did, but for me it is just a nope.
Mediocre writing, confusing plot, and underdeveloped characters. It is young adult, but it just feels flat, and lacking in emotion. I like when a writer has a unique writing style. This to me feels like I am reading just facts and motions. I feel no emotion here. Two stars because I feel generous, it has a pretty cover, and the synopsis sounded promising. It lied. This needs trimmed down and expanded at the same time. Confusing? So is the book.

This was a very fun read. I really like the characters, they actually acted like kids! The story was interesting, and really held my child's attention. This is a middle grade novel. I really feel the need to comment that the author stayed true to the recommended age group very well. Word difficulty, the amount of suspense, and the content were all spot on. This is a hard thing to accomplish, and I can honestly say that I have not found too many that actually do. Either the content is too old or young, the wording too simple/difficult, etc.
This is a story of fantasy that follows a group of kids who are charged with keeping the town safe from veggie stealing goblins. Pretty unique. My son went to bed with visions of himself slaying goblins with his wooden sword, he also acted some of the scenes out. The author has a way of transitioning from action scenes to calmer ones that kept these acted out sword fights to a resonance amount of excitement.
I really recommend this to children looking for a fantasy book, but not wanting to commit to a very lengthy one.

At first, this was a bit confusing, but it all came together. This is set in the future where the earth is not only dealing with one alien race, there are two. This is very detailed, and I can't even try to imagine how much research went into this. The writing was good, kept a steady flow, and we'll executed. I am impressed. Hope there is more from this author in the future.
