I'm a bit sad about this book, I really liked the first 50%. The characters and circumstances were sooo good. But it just went so downhill for me personally and I just did not care anymore. So the 3 stars are just for the first half of the book. Maybe it was just not the right time to read it and I would have enjoyed it more if I was more interested in this specific genre? But overall I think the writing was excellent and the story could've been amazing the whole way through.
Read this for a weird horror themed month so maybe its what I should have expected, but I did not vibe with this book. Parts of it were fun and entertaining but the writing was impossible to follow. It was trying to be more than it was and I struggled to get through it. If the writing was more simplistic the story would've been fun and weird but now its just weird and confusing.
I've liked some of this authors other books waay more. I think parts of it were interested and fun but overall the story was pretty weak, and I honestly felt no suspense at all. Behind closed doors and The prisoner are so amazing so highly recommend those instead of this one. I feel like I guessed the truth quite early on and my god I hated the MMC.
Wow that was way better than I expected! I honestly just wish it was a full length novel! Really good character building and the story was so good, I think it was just really fast paced because its quite short but it wasn't too fast paced luckily.

I had a feeling I was going to like this but also a little worried I might not... But omg it did kot dissapoint! There was so much more than just the premise of the book. The characters actually had feelings, emotions, conflicts. Really amazing and I'll be reading more from this author because they seem to cover topics in a way that isn't usually done and I'm here for it!
You ever just get absolutely consumed by a book?
I had my doubts at first I'll be honest. The opening of this book makes it feel like it's like all the other books. But dear lord it does not stay that way. Absolutely loved the characters and the psychoanalysing, they were flawed and talked about it and it made them feel real and true. I think the only downside was that it does wrap up rather quickly. But on the other hand, I'm here for a good time, not a sad time, so I'm not too mad about it. I was worried about it being a series but it seems like it's a series of standalones! So luckily no cliffhangers or dragged out stories! Excited for more.
The set up was really fun, love the setting and changing scenery, I think the story has a lot of potential I just wasn't a big fan of Charlie's character. It was also a nice slower pace but then went 0 to 100 real quick. Overall an enjoyable quick read!

I really do like the series overall but this did take me a while to get through. I think I preferred the academy setting which isn't very prevelant in this book. I do think the world is one of the most interesting things I've ever read! Her learning more about her magic was so amazing!

I am so incredibly pleasantly surprised by this book! What a phenomenal journey, it's been a while since a low stakes contemporary book actually made me believe the story. The characters felt real and the pacing was amazing. Really impressed by this and highly recommend to anyone looking for a pretty easy read with depth, slow pacing and great character development!
Fair warning though, don't read this if you don't like flawed characters!

Absolutely phenomenal. I don't know how you do it but this series is the best series I have ever read hands down. The ending of this book was perfection. I'm so glad it didn't end similar to the other books! Really really amazing and I can't wait to re read this series about 3 more times before the next one comes out.
I really want to give this book 5 stars, but after a 400+ page book and now almost 700 pages... How can it still feel rushed? Most of this book was absolutely amazing, but the ending felt so rushed. Like reveals were just instant with no consequences. The story was amazing, I think overall I'm really happy with the character developments, except for some that felt rushed at the end. I'll ofcourse be finishing this series, very very curious how some people are going to redeem themselves...
So I've just realised I never wrote reviews for all these books, which is a crime, so I'll try my best to write it just looking at this book and not the entire series... This was amazing. Like so so amazing! Its so fun to get to know the characters some more and it has one of my fav momo moments. Also this book absolutley bamboozled me, I did NOT expect things to turn out this way...
