So I didn't realise this was connected to the twisted series... So I stupidly started reading this to about 70% and then was like oops I should read the entire twisted series first. I don't think it matters too much but I really enjoyed the overlap between twisted lies and this book so I do recommend it because you get to see multiple perspectives of the story.
Back to the book at hand, thoroughly enjoyed it! Love the characters and really enjoyed the story. This feels like a better executed version of twisted lies (minus the suspense aspect). Very curious how the rest of the series will go! Just sad I'm going to have to wait ages to complete it.

It was fine tbh. Seeing a lot of people dislike this book but I thought it was fine. Yea the characters are pretty shit at times but I listened to the audiobook and it was perfectly enjoyable while doing my work, so maybe it depends on how you're consuming the book. If you're into the making a bet, some cheating and manipulation then it's right up your alley. It's not overwhelming and I wasn't too bothered but if you really hate those things then yea it's not for you.
Absolutely loved it! But.... It could've been much much better I think. The slow burn was actually done beautifully in this book. It takes ages before they get spicy and I love that, but it is very Insta love where he is obsessed with her from the start. Normally I hate that (like twisted games) but it was actually done well in the book. I think twisted hate is by far the best book but this one is close second just ahead of twisted love. I think it would've been the best book if the plot was expanded on a bit more, could've built a lot more suspense and a bigger reveal, it felt a bit meh. I still don't really understand what made him change his perspective, it just kinda happened? Did love their dynamic and the spice was amazing. So would definitely recommend still!
Maybe a hot take but I enjoyed this book waaaaay more than twisted games. It's probably due to personal preference but josh had an actual personality. He was charming and the banter was amazing between the characters. The spice was top notch, he was dominant but she was a little bratty and the way it played off each other was amazing. The overall story was quite intense at moments which kept the book interesting throughout. Highly recommend!
My God I am obsessed (no pun intended...). I don't wanna put any spoilers at all, so I will just start by saying this book is significantly darker than the first one. There's some potentially triggering stuff that happens in the story and some dark shit described later on. So just be aware that if you have some triggers that this might be too much. I like going into books without knowing specifics so that's why I won't say anything else about that. Now... This book is so damn amazing. I started reading it the moment I finished the first book and finished it in 2 days (by far the quickest I've finished a book). The story telling was amazing, the chemistry and characters were perfect and this series is for sure shooting straight up to the top of my favourites. If you like dark romance where the darkness isn't the relationship between the characters but instead with their past/with other people, this book is for you. The ending felt quick compared to the beautiful slowness of the rest of the book but I didn't mind it too much.
Absolute perfection!!! The perfect amount of slow burn, so much tension, and best of all clear consent and a safe word!! I've never been happier. Morally grey mafia Don who's very possessive but I hate noncon stuff, so this was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend if you like dark romance but without all the trigger warnings.
Absolutely loved the first book and was so happy I could continue to this straight away. Books kicks off with nerve wrecking intensity and I jsut could not put it down the whole way through. Was worried for a part in the middle that the reveal would be something but thank God it wasn't. The first book was a lot mroe casual and sexy, but this beautifully rounded up the story and I'm so excited for the potential spin offs that can come from this!.

It was a very enjoyable read but can't really rate it much higher because it was very simple and the love story felt very unbelievable. There was potential to give the guys a proper character but instead the back stories set up a good basis but then nothing happened with it. They all just moved past there issues instantly because they were just so in love. But if you're not looking for too deep of a book then it's an enjoyable book to pass the time.
So I loved the prequel book (I know it gets a lot of hate) but it was an amazing dynamic and very steamy. However, this book was just too damn long. The first 50% I enjoyed for the most part but then it got very stale to me and I just had enough. I powered through the rest of it but it wasn't really worth it. I love jake and caleb, they were chefs kiss perfect combo. If the book was only them 2 and like 200 pages less, I probably would've rated it 5 stars. But.... I just do not give a damn about Ilmari. I'm glad people love this book and maybe I'm being harsh, but nothing about him was exciting to me. I don't care for them speaking a different language and his entire personality just felt like being a big brute with no redeeming factors at all. It does have really good smut in it but at times the scenes are very far apart and the story between them was just getting old after a while.
Absolutely loved it, has some tropes I know a lot of people don't like but to me it was perfect. The characters were believable and the smut was 10/10.
Could not put the book down. It's always amazing to find a writing style that just suits you. The characters were believable, it wasn't overly dramatic and it wasn't mundane. You could empathise with the grief and struggling Emma (FMC) must be going through and ruslan (MMC) was just how I like them, stone cold on the outside but secretly sweet and caring (but only for her ofcourse). To me this is the perfect dark romance, the guy is morally grey but he isn't doing shady things to the FMC. Would highly recommend if you like maffia men/boss men with secrets, maybe not if you're into the real dark and twisted.

Feels very overhyped to me. Stsrted reading the series because of everyone loving this book but enjoyed the first one more. It wasn't a bad book at all but I definitely lost interest about halfway through and it took me ages to complete. I truly did not care about him, his personality was just cold and boring. First half was great with the tension and the chemistry building but after that it was just a lot of samey scenes and skipping over a lot of the spice. Yes it has the infamous ‘crawl to me' and it was hot but it doesn't make up for the rest of the book being mid. If you're really into stone cold bodyguard alpha men then this is probably a great read for you! If you prefer charm and connection between characters maybe not so much.
I'm writing this review after reading the third book, and that one is just so much better, so if you feel like a completionist then it's worth it for sure, but it's for sure not needed as the third book catches you up to the story anyway.
I don't really leave reviews, and this book surely doesn't need it either. But oh my god... The people are right, this book leaves you with a big wtf at the end. It was absolutely amazing I've not gasped at a book this much and I also could not put it down. I read through 80% of the book in one evening because I had to finish it. If you like tense, dark books then please read this!! It has very dark and twisted themes but it's worth it in the end in my opinion. Very ready to read all the rest of her books too!
This is the reason people judge romance readers, this book is the problem. No this was not adequately warned upfront what the hell was going to happen so it was a quick dnf but it doesn't deserve this high of a rating. I skimmed through the book and nothing gets better.
This really pelasently surprised me! I've heard so many mixed things about this series and I just kept seeing this one specifically recommended so finally gave it a chance. It was so nicely paced, not too fast at all which is what I've come to expect of popular CR. I think the overall story was very low stakes so it wasn't very tense and a lot of things were handled lightly, but honestly I think the pacing and actually feeling like they were slowly falling for each other was really well done so I still loved it!
So good! I don't know what it is but this is just so much better than other similar novellas I've read. The writing is soo good! I can't wait to read all her other books.
I fucking adored the first 2 books (see my other reviews) was so excited and happy to keep reading but I made it to 26% and I won't put myself through more of it. Partially I am to blame because I like going into things blind so no reviews, no descriptions, no trigger warnings. But be warned, a LOT of trigger warning should be placed on this book. It got to me and I can't continue (noncon vibes). To talk a bit more about the actual story, it started off very weird, it felt like a completely different universe and multiple times thought I was reading the wrong book honestly. I still liked it though and stuck with it, I liked her spirit and fire to go out there. It was ominous and dark and I vibed with that too. Also really liked the single pov because it added so much mystery and I didn't know for a while who she was going to end up with so that was enjoyable. But then at 26% shit pops off and I tried but when they got close to doing the deed noncon style, it's too much for me personally so please just be careful if you're like me! The first 2 books were the perfect dark romance with the whole ‘look at her and I'll kill you' and mention of trigger topics but this has a lot of on page shit and it's just too much. Would've been nice if this was a different series and that the books within a series stayed similarly dark. Still want to see what the 4th book will bring but sadly dnf for this one but wanted to leave a review in case other people wanted some spoiler free opinions/warnings.
