Kitty

I love this series. God knows why. It's not extremely witty. The writer overexplains - I can keep up with the story line, thank you. And yet I just love the characters. Possibly I am very shallow. This is like a cosy Netflix series you won't advertise you're watching. And this book is not the best in the series. It really only picks up pace towards the end. But wottehell. I felt a little depressed, and this book helped.

Fascinating (crime) story. Well written. Great characterisation. Great plot. A pretty serious book, no humor, but mesmerizing. I don’t think I have ever read anything like it.

I listened to an audiobook. It’s a little hard to get who’s who at first, because of multiple POV’s, but hang in there, after a while it gets better.

A new favorite writer.

Great read, almost too exciting for my taste. She must have gotten awards for it, it is beautifully constructed with a surprising outcome. Nice cast of characters. Karen Pirie only has a tiny role in this first book and, having read several of the other Karen Piries, this one is totally different and way more ambitious.

Well written, good in its kind, but action packed. Less focused on relationships - more of a guy's book.
