3.5 for me I fear. I love love love Chloe's writing and that's definitely what made me persevere through the first half of the book but was worth it for the end (although did have a few gripes with it). But at the end of the day Chloe writes unhealthy obsession so well!! Will be waiting for her next book for sure and will eat it up.
If Harry Potter, Divergent and Hunger Games had a dragon baby. Can definitely understand the hype around this still hasn't sold me on the romantasy genre (although I will probably continue to listen to the books because I am intrigued where the plot is going), the repetitive descriptions just seem to be part of the genre at this point.
3.5 ⭐️
Nice easy read! A bit over-explained at times but I feel like this is a good introduction into the mystery genre (not that I have much knowledge lol).
Because I read this over quite a long period I kinda forgot what happened at the beginning of the book which kinda ruined the aha-moments of the interconnecting story but that is on me
3.75???
The concept of this book was great and I enjoyed getting in to it but it kind of got to the point where everything was just so extreme that it didn't seem plausible dystopian society...but it is a short book so may be unrealistic of me to expect that sort of world building from it.
The ending was ?????? HUH????
A bit disappointed by this one. Not as horrifying as I thought it was going to be since it was nominated for best horror????
Found it quite slow and really had to push through until the last 100 pages where shit started to go down, even that was kinda disappointing...
Might look into some of the authors other books as I did enjoy the writing.
