I do not understand why this book got such decent reviews. It drudged on an on and on.. so much talk about how creepy the building was but didn't say why it felt so creepy until the end. There was no bumps in the night or false ghost sightings or anything.. just not my favorite from Riley Sager.

This was a fast paced book and I ended up finishing it in one day. That being said, it was definitely a YA book. I didn't realize that until I started reading. I feel like the “twist” was a bit obvious and the other “twist” felt very “I know what you did last summer”. But it was an enjoyable read and I don't regret picking it up.

I had to DNF it. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea because it was just so wordy but I couldn't make myself care about any of the crap that was happening between murders. I'm sure it is a great book, just not for me.

Whaaaaaaaaat even was this book? My flabbers were gasted!

The main character was whiny and mean despite the fact that she was bullied and an outcast. She grew up to be whiny and mean. I guess the magic she was doing was supposed to like fuel the darkness but she didn't have it for 20 years and she still came back to town as a brat. Maybe I should stop trying to read YA books as a full grown adult.
