This volume showed Erica in her most vulnerable state. I loved it so much because it showed that she was still a human. Badass one but human with feelings. For me, she was kinda cold from volume 1 to volume 6. She was kinda showed her vulnerability in volume 7 and I loved her even more because of it.
This volume is not the continuity of the story from volume 7. I think everything happened in this book happened 5 years before volume 1 or volume 7. There was no explicit action to solve the case. Way less gore than other volumes. The cases were only in snippets and centered in displaying Erica's feelings. Again, way less action compared to previous volumes.
