Blades and Dreams: A Figure Skating Journal and Knowledge Guide

Wrote a review for

I knew nothing about Figure Skating. I was into it long time ago when I read (romance) book by Mariana Zapata which the characters were Figure Skaters. Back then I watched many videos about Figure Skating so I could at least understand what they were talking about. But since it was long time ago, I automatically forgot about them. Me and my short term memory. Then Winter Olympic 2026 was happening and Figure Skating was one of the highlights of it. I was back to watching Figure Skating videos and reading the books about it. This book was one of them.

True to the title, this book focused on journaling the progress of the readers' Figure Skating journeys. The first 50% of the book was fully journal type of books which highlighting step by step of progress in Figure Skating.

The last 50% of the book was brief history and guidelines of Figure Skating itself. And this part was the part I read religiously since I had zero knowledge about the sport. It was educational and easy to understand because the words used were straightforward and followed by the illustrations/pictures of the subject explained.

I think this book is perfect for the kids who already have a mind in Figure Skating, especially girls. I might read the boys edition for my son to introduce him to the sport.

Thank you to Lucy Bozzi, BooksGoSocial, and NetGalley for the ARC.
