Sorry, wanted to like this one but just could not get into it. In truth I so disliked this particular read that I did not finish it. There are just too many good books out there that I want to get my hands on.
Sorry Jen McArthy but I hated the whole concept of this book especially and including the title! We would ALL move mountains to “heal” our children. Every family that faces this starts on a journey which was chosen for them. A journey with so many twists and turns and ups and downs it's almost impossible to explain. Books like this one call into question the “right” way to care for your child with autism. It is divisive and I believe knowing the outcome socially of such books quite cruel. Raising children with autism is isolating enough without claims of a non-existent “cure”.
I love history and context and I am a musician. Again a book I read while studying. I had to rate it higher than counterpoint and theory books simply based on my own preference of subject. Another book to be read by the music student or enthusiast.
Best GF Flour..I make this flour every couple of months and use it in all my recipes even Grandmas old favourites. So 5 stars for my review.
I read this while in university. Hard to rate a book which was required reading and read so long ago. Certainly a book to be read by musicians during time of study.
Ok so full disclosure...I did not “read” this book but I did thoroughly enjoy the HBO documentary of the same name, produced by the author ... So I am giving this one a good review putting my faith in the television representation. (And my quick review of other GoodRead Opinions)
I'm looking forward to understanding this concept, I've just created my “exclusive” shelf. Please GR friends I admit m lost here and would enjoy seeing all these reviews in one place. Advice welcome.
This is a Norton Anthology. As such I suppose I should mark it as a 5 star read. Well of course in accuracy and information and organization a 5 star rating would clearlyapply. The question I ask myself is did I enjoy the read? Well on my “enjoy-ability” scale I can think of many other books. For that reason only a 4 star. As a text book....5 star all the way. Please understand the fun factor I placed within this review.
So I did not finish this book. I'm not going to rate it today. I tried yo get into this story and just could not. I may give it another chance though because I was listening via library digital audio. I often prefer reading to audio.
