SOOOOO many cases of drug use where the character is seemingly completely unaffected and unbothered.... I don't need my books to be accurate, but this was disconcerting lol

very slow and wordy, but a very interesting look at history, culture, and the neverending allure of New York City

some really wonderful advice from an interesting perspective. I can't say anything rocked my world as someone who has read a great deal of mental health advice, but I still found it impactful. It can be nice to hear things over again, especially in such an actionable way

really really enjoyable read!!! I powered right through it and I found myself so captivated by the narrators voice. The storyline didn't have my favorite ending.... but I enjoyed it greatly nonetheless!

book & cook club April Sci-Fi Books choice! my pick!!!

I liked that the book was easy to read, and quick to jump into the topic. It wasn't incredibly difficult to understand the steps the plot was taking, and yet I was still interested! I also really like the art for this, I often find "adult" graphic novels somewhat difficult to gather real plot from, but I found this one a great mix of mediums.

I found this book interesting, and I read through it pretty quickly. I cannot say that I liked it as much as I liked Sharp Objects by the same author, but it was still an interesting read. I think there were some passages that felt weirdly phrased and out of place, although I can't recall a super specific example. I think the story was captivating (obviously to a lot of audiences, based on the general ratings) but I think the ending was lackluster and didn't give me what I wanted out of the book. It felt like a letdown because the author didn't know what to do with the corner she had written herself into.
Time to watch the film, so I can carefully compare and contrast, just like I did with Sharp Objects
