I went into this book with the blurb on the back of the book. What a delightful, heart breaking poignant book. I think thats the best way to approach this book. You go in thinking ohh it’s about a crazy grandma who may or may not be a killer.. what you end up with is a sad, infuriating, heartbreaking story about a child who suffered (for no reason).
Elsie “Mad Mabel” Waller is an 81 year old cantankerous curmudgeonly lady who has a past. Her past is sad. She’s the infamous “serial killer” mad Mabel.
We get to learn about the sad painful truth of Mabel’s life. As the book progresses, Mabel becomes more of the person she was always supposed to be, a protector, and a friend. 4 stars! Highly recommend
