Lawd, I don’t know why I took so long to finish this book. I think Christian might be my favorite out of the 4 boyfriends (don’t let Alex see that). I was loving every minute of their fake relationship turned real until their split and then Stella began to irk my soul. I’m not saying what Christian did was right but I am saying that it was public information so how would it be an invasion of privacy? And to compare him to her stalker was a low blow. Regardless, I did enjoy the book.

I don’t usually read the cheating trope, but if I do, it’s because the FMC’s boyfriend is a fucking asshole and 100% deserves it.

I was so excited to read this book just to end up not knowing how to feel about it, I loved it and I didn’t. I can’t quite figure out what it is that’s making me feel this way. The decisions that Emmy continued to make made me so mad but I can’t really blame her, she was desperate to get away from the nut case that is Jessie–because that’s exactly what he is, a fucking nut case! I did love that Benji wanted to do anything to protect her. Dale and Jessie got what they deserved. I like to think Mr. Ormsby got what he deserved too.

This is my first book by Maria Raye, and I’m already excited to jump into more of her work…

Maksym, the man that you are. There’s something about a man that would unalive any man that dared touch you that hits different. If you say you wouldn’t love a man who would unalive anyone who did you wrong, YOU’RE A LIAR!

I loved Maksym and Kira’s story; it was written out so well. I loved everything about them because they were both just as unhinged as the other, but that ending was not something I was expecting. Spoiler: This is not a HEA. I wish I had read the reviews; it would’ve saved me the heartbreak. Kira deserved better from the very beginning. She deserved a father who protected her rather than a man who would sell her out (that’s basically what he did the entire book). They both deserved their happily ever after, and it was snatched from them. WE WERE ROBBED!

I skipped the second epilogue because Maria warned us that it would be a spoiler for the Foundations Trilogy, which I do plan on reading, but I am dying to know what’s next for Maksym and what will become of his empire.

This is my first read by Pepper Basham, and if the rest of her books are anything like this one, she has gained a permanent reader. This was such a cute read and a great way to start the new month. The banter was everything, and Lucy was such a cutie! I love a small-town romance where all the neighbors are super supportive of each other, and the match-making work they were doing made it all the sweeter. The social media aspect was a great touch in my opinion, and the culinary competition between the two characters made the story so fun to read/listen to!

I’m at a loss for words right now… what the hell was that ending? What the hell is going on? I need to get to the second book ASAP because I want and NEED answers. I was sat for this whole audio; I couldn’t wait to get back to it whenever I had to put it down to do what needed to be done just so I could be completely focused on it. I even thought it would be my five-star read for the month, a great way to end the month of April… now I’m confused as hell, and I’m real mad about it (not as mad as Reyla is, though).

I liked the scenes with Merrick, and I loved how he protected her, but I kind of wish he would’ve put his mother in her place because her behavior towards her new daughter-in-law was just gross. Erisandra was just dismissive and rude to Reyla from the start, which immediately gave me the ick. I instantly wrote her off and didn’t even want to give her the benefit of the doubt. To have her ladies in waiting act the same way as she did towards the QUEEN, or soon-to-be Queen (they were already married, they were just waiting on the coronation) was insane, and I was shocked that Merrick didn’t put his foot down immediately. The point props to Reyla for handling herself the way she did.

I think the narrators were great, though I wish the female narrator had changed her voice up just a bit to read the male dialogue, just so the reader wasn’t confused at times. Other than that, they did great.

I originally requested this book through NetGalley. I started this book at 3 in the morning, took a nap, and I ATE IT UP, as I do when it comes to why choose. That should tell you enough. Sade Rena really knows how to keep her audience hooked from start to finish.

I loved seeing how the boys’ attitudes towards Sam changed over time. No one asked, but my favorite of the three was Bryden (Mountain), which is surprising because normally the asshole of the group would be the one that I levitate towards.

I absolutely hated how misogynistic the male staff was. In my opinion, Jackson did not suffer enough for what he had done, and Sam should’ve definitely permanently injured him. As for Gracie, I was very anti-Gracie for a while. I don’t know if my distrust of college roommates has anything to do with ‘The Roommate’ with Leighton Meester (it probably really does), but every time Gracie made an appearance, I looked at my partner and was like, “I don’t trust this girl.” She was just too nice from the beginning, and it unsettled me.

The whole secret society thing was a great addition to the book, and finding out what really went on was quite entertaining, though a bit disturbing. My only thing is that I wish we had gotten more scenes with all four of the MCs (and yes, I do mean the spice), but other than that, I really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it. In my opinion, Sade is a great writer, and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

I had high hopes for this book and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the mystery and guessing who the killer was (I was wrong with every guess but it was fun guessing). I’m very excited for the next book in this series, maybe my suspicions will turn out to be correct(?) The real killer’s identity took me a little by surprise, they seemed so nice and turned out to be a total psycho, but what can you expect from a vampire? I can’t wait to find out if one of the professors is part of what I’m choosing to call the “bird mask club”, if you read this book you’ll know why I suspect a professor. I loved the romance between Tobey and Caldwell though I feel like Tobey could’ve trusted Caldwell a little more, I say that though I don’t think I would react differently than Tobey when they found him next to a fresh kill.

If you love your reads with mystery, vampires, witches, demons, etc. then this is the read for you.

I DNF for the pettiest reasons, this one is the whole “I won’t allow you to do this”, “I won’t allow you to do that”. I tried to ignore it but in the 128 pages that I read it was mentioned a lot.

This was such a quick read, but it was so good. This book follows Robert and Janet’s story as they work to build a life of their own, a life they could be proud of. They obviously had obstacles on their way to the life they’ve always dreamed of but made it through. I loved how supportive they were of each other. The story is also heartbreaking, there is the topic of miscarriage in this story so warning for those who might not want to go into a book with that trauma. Overall, it was a good story, and the ending was better than I expected. I highly recommend giving Daniele’s work a try.

Oh my god. I did not expect that ending, I was very confused for a bit (did it to myself trying to figure out the ending before having any sort of concrete info). I love books with a good twist and this one had plenty of twists and turns which made the story more entertaining. I was trying so hard to be on Maya’s side throughout the whole book, but she continuously made bad decisions that would put her marriage at risk.

I loved the epilogue, specifically the part where Maya finally came to her senses and decided to stop being unfaithful to her husband, I get he could’ve been a little more helpful throughout the whole ordeal but that did not excuse what she was doing with his COUSIN. Besides the cheating (on someone who did not deserve it) the story was enjoyable and the narrator—Allyson Morgan did an amazing job narrating.

We get more spice scenes and let me tell you they were spicing! I love it when all the characters get together so Asher will have to get with the program, soon. There’s this one specific character that I have been sus of since the first book so imagine my surprise (not really) when I turned out to be right about that character, I wish her nothing but the absolute worst. I can’t wait to see the absolute chaos that Rio and Zane will bring when they rescue our girl from her ex.

I think this was a great intro to the characters and the politics, a great way to start the series and I’m very excited to see where this story goes. This was a bit of a fast-paced novella but the amount of details included in it were great.

I love this couple. There’s nothing I love more than a man that would do ANYTHING to get his woman back and that’s exactly what Soren did.

When he finally came for her, you could not get me away from this book, no sir. Not only was he coming for his woman he was avenging Anya, as he should. I knew I would somehow end up liking Anya, and then they did that girl so dirty. I felt so bad for Bones after they found her. This world seemed very different from the first book not that I minded that much I still enjoyed the story as it went on. Kind of hard not to enjoy it with all the pirates, gods, sirens, and magic that were included in the story. Jane’s capturers got exactly what they deserved especially after what they did to Anya. I wish there would’ve been more scenes with Kathleen as she’s the best friend but it is what it is. I’m still going to hold my breath in hopes that we’ll get a book for Bones and Kathleen though.

I received an ALC for this book, first thing is, I LOVED the sound effects that were included at the beginning of every chapter and even some in between. The storyline was so good I did not want to put this book down.

I loved Jane, loved how this book started with her walking out of a tavern after breaking a man’s nose, she got bonus points for defending her friend from creeps. Idk about any of you but I want a best friend like Jane. If you thought that I wasn’t going to obsess over a new MMC you thought wrong. The minute Soren was introduced I knew I was done for.

I disliked Anya (she was giving “I’m jealous of you for being in Soren’s bed” vibes) but at least she was loyal to him. I hope that in the next book, I can come to like her at least. I liked Bones, I need a book for him and Kathleen which probably won’t happen, but a girl can dream, right?

If you're a reader that loves a dark romantasy this book should be right up your alley. Heads up this book ends with a cliffhanger but lucky for you book 2 has already been released. Speaking of book 2, that’s where I’m headed now.

The minute I saw this book on TikTok with “submissive MMC” I knew I had to pick it up immediately. I just love reading about submissive men whimpering for their woman, it just hits different. I do wish this book would’ve been spicier, but it was still an enjoyable read. The Hispanic family dynamics were so accurate, I loved that. I also loved that a lot of the conversations were in Spanish. Speaking of Spanish conversations, this book might be a bit hard to follow for those that do not know any Spanish so keep that in mind in case you decide you want to pick this book up for yourself. I did feel like the kidnapping and the rescuing could’ve been dragged out a little more, the rescuing felt a bit rushed to me, but it is what it is. Overall, I did find this book enjoyable, and I look forward to the next book in the series.

What was that? Were they unable to devise a better excuse that ended with different results? I did not expect that one High School staff to be someone from Austin’s past, but I guess losing your first love really does mess you up. This book does have its share of teen drama that kind of took me by surprise, I wasn’t a huge fan of it. After everything that happened, I was left questioning what happened at Eddy’s last school. There were two versions, Eddy’s and everyone else’s. Did they all somehow come together to frame him for what happened to Mia, or did he actually do what he was accused of? This story could’ve been better, but I think the narrators did a great job with it though.

I contemplated DNFing the book several times but decided to push through it. Tom being a creep was not on my bingo card though. While I personally didn’t LOVE I think it was an okay read.

I thought I was going to love this book from start to finish… that’s not the case. Francesca was naive as hell when it came to her family, which made her annoying. How do you walk in on your sister in your husband’s bed, acknowledge that she was trying to ruin your marriage on behalf of your mother, and then believe her when she calls crying that she’s pregnant and that she needs help to escape, that she cannot leave on her own because apparently, they took all her belongings except her phone 🤨… Francesca walked into a trap that everyone else could see from a mile away because “she’s my sister” man, fuck your sister. I hate FMCs that allow their family to run every aspect of their lives. Yes, I get that her inheritance was on the line, but I seriously would’ve said “fuck the inheritance”. If you can’t have free will, what good is the inheritance?

I hate that after Graham went to find his wife they took Florence with them. This ho lied to get her sister in the hands of Giovanni and her mother and they just forgave her? Fuck that, let that ho claw her own way out of the prison she so willingly accepted.

I ATE THIS BOOK UP. I have never read a dark rom-com but I was here for it. I loved Ezra and Kindra though I wish Ezra would’ve told her the truth sooner. I felt so bad after she found out the truth about her brother and I’m glad she was able to accept that her brother was a monster. Bennett got on my nerves a little bit, but I got where he was coming from so that gained him points and him assaulting fruit was not on my bingo card. It was disturbing and hilarious asf because my lord there are TWO other women on that island (not counting the FMC) and this man goes for a PINEAPPLE(???). Cat was annoying and a bit dramatic, she gave me weird vibes at first. The hatred those two have for each other has me excited for their book though!

I LOVED Abigail and Logan’s relationship. I loved that Abbie was not opposed to the arranged marriage and that Logan made an effort to get to know her and go on dates before getting down to business 😉😏. I am obsessed with Logan, his love for animals and his desire to take down everyone in the sex trafficking “business” might’ve gained him lots of points. The spice was spicing, and the friendships were everything. What happened to that one side character was unnecessary! 😢 They didn’t have to, nor did they deserve to go out like that. THEY DESERVED BETTER! Apart from that death I honestly have no complaints about this book. Loved it and I 100% recommend it!

Sarah’s husband goes missing and I immediately think that she killed him. Boy, was I wrong…

The book was doing so well and then we were given that ending… It was a bit disappointing. Sarah was acting suspicious so rightfully I spent the entire book blaming her for her husband’s disappearance and the whole time she had nothing to do with it. There is so much build-up for nothing IMO. The new information that was received about her husband was a bit shocking (out of everything he could’ve been doing I did not expect what he was actually doing) but it was entertaining at least. I wouldn’t recommend this book but if you’re going into it just know it's more of a mystery than a thriller. I hope to find better books from this author.

This is the final book in the midsummer series, and I was not prepared to dislike Miri as much as I did towards the end. I should’ve guessed that Miri would leave like she always did but I fully expected her to stay true to her promise and stay with Ivy & Carter. The long-awaited battle was more than I expected. I certainly did not expect two of the four to DIE (Jena how dare you play with my feelings like that?) Jena had me ready to crash out, my emotions were all over the place, but I knew it could not end with the four of them being separated. The spicy scenes were amazing as always. I loved that Ivy & Miri finally took control of their own lives (granted that Miri had to be dragged away from the altar after planning to go through with such a ridiculous wedding to please her grandmother). I will miss the four of them (some more than others) and though this is the end of Midsummer I look forward to more of Jena’s work.

I really wanted to like this book considering that it is my first sapphic mafia romance. I went into it intending to love it 100% and then Emilia entered the chat and showed her true colors. The audacity of that woman to choose everyone else but Chiara and then ask her to be by her side every step of the way (for her wedding) while Chiara suffered in silence was sealed the deal. Emilia was selfish. She wanted to have her cake and eat it too. The further I got into the story the more I hated her.

Stefan deserved better and if he turned out to be an absolute asshole after Chiara was so cold to him and then called off their engagement (because Emilia finally decided that she wanted to choose her because “Angelo couldn’t protect her the way Chiara could”) I wouldn’t have blamed him. No one will ever change my mind that if she (Emilia) hadn’t been kidnapped she never would’ve called off her engagement to Angelo. The plot itself was good and the writing style was even better, if it weren’t for Emilia and how much she irked my soul, this would’ve been rated higher.

Raven and Otto gave everything they were supposed to give. The spice and the pinning were everything. Everybody say “Thank you Charleigh & River” for the little incident that caused Raven’s immediate move to Otto’s place. Lol.

Raven is such a badass, I love her confidence and her personality. She went through a lot and I’m glad she found the happiness she deserved. I love that Otto calls her “Moonflower” I think it's just the cutest name (I am still a big fan of “Little Runner”)!

River found out about his sister & his best friend exactly how I expected him to find out but when I tell you that his reaction had me ready to fight him, I really mean it. I get why he was pissed at Otto BUT who would be better than someone he knows would protect her with his life? He also needs to remember that he’s dating his sister’s best friend so he should be the last one talking. I’m glad he came around quickly though, not that he had much of a choice (his sister was kidnapped).

I loved the flashback chapters that gave us a glimpse into their shared past and shed light on what happened to Haddie among other things. The ending left me like 🤔😲... I cannot wait until Kane’s book because I need answers. In case it wasn’t already obvious, I recommend the series.
