I bought this book from beastboyshub's recommendation three or four years ago, like forever ago. I don't even remember it, but it was on the shelf for a long time. I didn't touch it at all because of just the thickness of this book. But I recently gave this a try since I heard people GLAZING it all over my Reddit feed, and they were just talking about how terribly good this is.

Looking at the cover art, I definitely thought this was some mass produced, capitalized garbage, since the cover is a lot fancier. I mean, that's not how you judge it, but I was judging the book by its cover. XD

Later, I only realized- after I learned more about Khaled Hosseini and his book The Kite Runner, which is more famous than this one apparently, that this guy is like an OG. He's actually a baller, so I mean I had to give this a try.

Only a chapter after, I realized I had been missing out on this for the last three or four years, or whenever I bought this book, because this is truly great. And if I have to put this in words - that you have to remember, this is a 400-page book. I have never touched such a book before, ever. So to read something like this in 5 days one can imagine how well it must've been written for a guy who scrolls 10 hours a day, who hasn't read much of anything except NCERT, to read this and that's how good it is,.

But I am not spoiling this in any way whatsoever! There is a lot of Islamic politics and a lot of terrific, miserable scenes here. Some even say that they got literal temporal clinical depression after reading this💔 I mean, that should be an overexaggeration, right? UNTIL you finish this. I failed to understand most of the politics part because I feel like that needed a bit more context. Except for that, the main arc - of both the female characters is just insanely engaging. I was emotionally invested half the time.

I already got spoiled mid read by the fucking 40-year-old unemployed book NERDS and Dostoevsky gooners from Reddit. But this is really heartbreaking and miserable, truly

I am pretty sure nobody is actually going to buy this book from my recommendation alone, but if you are it's going to be a great read

Thanks, Khaled Hosseini, for bringing me back to reading!
