Worth a read if you ever find yourself interested in the ideas of the modern "tech-right"; Karp & Zamiska identify correctly a number of ailments in modern American society & politics. Unfortunately Karp & Zamiska appear to suffer amnesia of their own writing as the book pivots to an extended sales pitch of the renewed investment in innovation by their particular brand of techno-nationalism dressed as patriotism.

The unsubtle railing against cosmopolitan, overeducated tech elite monetizing our every online click falls flat when the firm which Karp founded & leads centers a substantial portion of it's sales pitch on monitoring our every online click - but in the name of national security. Further complaints of the quality of our politicians as people & members of society ring hollow when you consider the political donations of the author.

Ultimately you can find these same broad critiques however in other recent titles such as Abundance, which more strongly puts forth an argument for rebuilding state capacity and shedding the stagnant energy of America.
