Changing my rating because I remember how much I disliked this book. However, this book could be an amazing one for you!
DNF @ 58%
Reading this story, I just... couldn't be bothered. The story didn't excite me and I just dreaded reading further. Not a lot happened, and it didn't strike my attention. I decided that it would be better to DNF it, as I'd rather spend my time reading books I enjoy.
I'm sure other people will love this book, though!
I loved One by Sarah Crossan, it really touched me, so I'm just really dissapointed in this one.
This story could've been longer for me! I couldn't really see what the meaning behind this story was, but it was thought-provoking. I think that in this story the main character evolves, even though there aren't a lot of pages. It is interesting to insinuate the meaning behind the all story, as most things are kept rather vague. Overall, this was a thought-provoking and quick read!
What an incredibly inspiring book this is! The amount of tabs I put into this book and the amount of paragraphs I highlighted is spectacular. The points Neumann touches in this book are very insightful and make you reflect upon your own life.
The anecdotes and examples Neumann uses to demonstrate his advice really add to the book, because you don't only see ‘the theoretic part' of the advice, but also how that advice has been executed in the past. Some examples that are mentioned are the story of Helen Keller, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Emily Dickinson, and so on.
I flew through the first 60% of the book, and then I got slowed down a bit. This has nothing to do with the advice being less good or anything like that, but I think it's normal with a book like this that you don't necessarily connect with every part of it.
If you are in need of some encouragement in life, I would recommend this book. It contains a lot of helpful advice within its approximately 200 pages, and it's easy to digest all the advice. It's explained very easily.
This book is different from your normal self help book. AND! For everytime this book is sold, 1% of the profit will be donated to Cancer and Heart Associations. So, you buy a very inspirational book AND you donate money to a good cause. Win-win!

As a big fan of Lovelace's poetry, seeing a new book available is an auto-request for me.
I loved book 1 in the you are your own fairy tale series, and book 2 - this book - didn't dissapoint either!
I could recognize myself a lot in the poems that were written in this book. I could really identify with most of them, which made my reading experience very insightful.
Lovelace's words are so heartfelt and soothing. This book will for sure be an auto-buy when it releases!
I give this book 4,5 out of 5 stars.
This is such a wonderful celebration of introvert people. This explains introversion in such a beautiful, calm and easy way. It honestly warmed my heart.
The drawings in this book were also very beautiful.
I think this is a good book to easily explain what introversion is. As an introvert you feel very accepted by it.
This book came onto my path at the right moment. I learned a lot about self-care from this book and will try to practice it as much as possible. In times like these, I think that books like this one are even more important than they are at other times. I highly recommend you read this book if you're struggling with yourself and want to find more techniques to make time for yourself and ‘Say Yes to Yourself'!
As I loved Francisco's first book ‘Helium', I was very excited to read this new book of him. I must say, I loved this one even more than helium.
The poems were so current for our times now. Topics such as Black Lives Matter and mass shootings are being mentioned.
This was a very interesting poetry book that will make you think a lot about everything!
The cover of this book reminded me of One Day in December by Josie Silver, which I absolutely loved. So that's how I clicked the request button NetGalley!
This is such a quick, heartfelt read. It was written very well, which made that I flew through the book. The story is also told through the POV's of both Sam and Izzy, which gives an extra insight into the story. I think the book also consists of some sensitive topics, which are handled pretty well, in my opinion.
I think the characters in this book were all likeable and recognizeable.
The book consists of some major time jumps, but it didn't really bother me. I was really invested in the life stories of all the characters and couldn't stop reading.
Overall, you can see that I really loved this book!
A song I associate with this book is Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an advanced reader copy.
Note that I read until about 40% into the book. This review talks about this part of the book.
The premise of this story sounds very good, however I couldn't connect with the story.
I mostly rely highly on connecting with the characters in a book and I couldn't in this book. I have never felt so emotionally distant from a book. However, this is the format of this book. We're not given names of the possible suspects, but just their occupation (computer programmer, army veteran / Chicago cop, ex-college athlete, despondent high school student). I think that the thing of not giving names or many emotional aspects to bond with the characters, is supposed to be the “charm” of the story and a way to keep things mysteriously, but sadly, this didn't work for me.
If you like mysterious books in which you piece by piece have to find out more about the suspects of a drama that happened, this will definitely be the book for you!
“is there some place where tears don't grow on trees?”
as my favorite color is yellow, i was very excited to read this book. the poems in this book are so beautiful. the poems in their whole are beautiful, but so are the seperate sentences within those poems. this was such an honest poetry collection and i loved it.
As a person living in the neighboring country of the Netherlands, I found it so nice to read this book. I think that because I speak Dutch myself, that added more to the book.
However, I love the concept of ‘niksen'. I think it should be normalized, as every person needs a moment for themselves, to recharge their body, mind, spirit. I think this book gives good tips to start with ‘niksen'. Everything is explained really well and understandable and the book included lovely drawings. I think that a lot of lessons can be learned from the technique this book is about. Let's get to ‘niksen'!
I loved reading this book. It has such a unique format.
This book is divided into several ‘chapters', all representing a certain theme (such as love, nature,...). Within these chapters, instagram poems are shown in their respective form (the famous instagram square) with a bit of explanation from the poet. I think this book is so unique and it's amazing that it helps to support the poets who mostly put their work on instagram. I loved discovering all these new amazing poets.
