I don't mind that at all, ppl are inspired by anything and everything, it's not new or very surprising for creators. I wouldn't be surprised if some older romance books were about bennifer. The problem for me is that this wasn't really interesting. She took the T & T inspo and instead of making the characters her own it felt more like a call out against the hate for T & T than an actual unique story.
I like seeing Mia and Aleks friendship and I'd like to see their relationship develop but the writing is a little predictable for me. Don't usually mind it but I'm not in the mood for that now. This is strange for me to say bc I've read a couple of her books where I feel like she put in a lot more care and personal style into her characters and story, but I don't feel that here. Does read like she under pressure to put this out, I won't judge much if that's the case.
I have never felt the need for a reboot as I have reading this book.
Karina please!! It doesn't have to be completely reworked, I loved the way perry was written and the spookyness was so good! Both main characters were interesting (perry was a stuntwoman and has a motorcycle!?) and had unique personalities (dex a little sometimes sometimes tho) that worked well with each other.
You can tell this was written in 2012 which I don't mind but I really think it could be sm better if it got rewritten now.
Perry got a body like Megan thee stallion (or Barbara Palvin considering this was written in 2012 where anything other than size 0 was plus size)

They were too intense for me ngl HE was too intense like back it up my guy chilllll. I didn't hate tho, but every time I started get into it kirill would or say something and I'd be like DAMN HOLD ON A MINUTE CHILL A BIT. he was something alright..
I wanted to see Sasha be more badass. I thought we were going to see her transform into this cool “don't-mess-with-me” soldier that was worthy of being apart of the pack, I especially thought this when the scene of her fighting kirill everyday until she could land 1 punch happened, I was disappointed when we didn't get to see that build up happen. (She does punch him much much later. happy abt that, but not the same)
the cover is a lot more scary than the story..
This felt more like a lifetime family drama than a mystery thriller tbh. It started picking up steam towards the end, but it was still meh for me unfortunately
No POV from the daughter really took away from the thriller part of the story since it was her who immediately suspected George from the beginning.
can't complain that much since it was short

I really liked this book. Honestly loved Calla and Jonah's chemistry. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is bc I didn't really like how Jonah handled Calla being materialistic.
I understand he was trying to show her that she was still beautiful and could survive without makeup, fancy clothes, technology etc etc. I just wish she learned that on her own. With her Integrating herself in her dad's life, learning how to live in Alaska and understanding the different culture there. I feel like she would've changed her perspective, regardless without him having to hide her bags, he just sped up the process to her getting there.
I'm not mad about it tho. She didn't completely change her personality and still liked fashion and things she used to enjoy before going to Alaska. Plus she got her revenge on him, backfired on her, but hey, it's something!
