Like ice cream on a hot summer day, this book was refreshing. The characters are both realistic and charming, and the  love stories hopeful. This is the perfect summer read.

I received this book as an ARC and was unfamiliar with Sophie Jordan. The book had my attention and interest early, as it is quick moving with lots of foreshadowing that makes you want to find out the author is hinting at. About half way through the book there was a shocking twist, followed by another shocking twist at the end! This is not a book that is predictable, and there were definitely some audible gasps on my part. I love the female protagonist's development and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series when it comes. In the meantime, I am looking forward to reading more of Sophie Jordan's YA books.
