Ambele nuvele/romane ar fi putut să ofere o bază foarte convingătoare pentru niște lucrări calitativa, dar aici vorbim de Eliade, deci niciodată nu va întrece așteptările vreodată. Stilul său de scriere este repetitiv și nu consideră cititorul că are destul creier să înțeleaga ce vrea să spună acesta. Mai apoi nu oferă oportunitate cititorului să-și formeze propriile sale opinii pentru personaje sau evenimente, mereu trebuie să fie o exclamație ce ne spune că asta trebuie să gândim. În rest, inspirația folclorică a fost cel bun aspect al acestor nuvele.

I read this poetry collection from a random recommendation from Instagram, I don't even remember who made the original post but 4fără15, one of my favorite youtubers liked the post. And this book did not disappoint.

It was worth the read because not only was this collection organized in such a beautiful way (by technique/theme in a way?) but that it also touched tenderly on some themes that many people, not just people of color in America, can relate. When it came to the theme of family, and the love that can make you change into a better person than what you've seen before in your own background (Hide and Seek says it much better than I do), I felt it too, and that is the true power of Words.

What I liked most about this book was the spoken poetry, those I think were the more polished ones and considering this style of poetry, it meets its purpose, to be heard and experienced, opening yourself up from the ribcage and letting the light go through you.

The last stories of this book made it easily a favorite between the books from the International Booker Prize. Well at least for now :))

Și eu mi-aș îneca amarul în pastramă și vin după ce am citit chestia asta. Întoarcerea din Rai mi-a plăcut mai mult, spre deosebire de majoritatea cititorilor :))

My daddy issues speak in this rating

Nu am destule cuvinte în vocabular să spun cât de mult m-au marcat evenimentele din acest roman. Tot ce pot zice este că acesta este un bun exemplu al literaturii române, aceasta nefiind pe cale de dispariție.

I think I shed a tear on (not literally on) every volume I've read of this story until now. I love it.

I wish I had elaborate words to explain my feelings about this book, so I will leave this instead:
I cried and it hit home, from the Eastern European culture to the hardships found in those countries, it is nice to be seen, even on a tangential note.

Personal consider ca alegerea Cătalinei o fost greșită. De eram în locul ei, deja eram în spațiu cu Luceafărul.






(da știu ce importanță și semnificație are poemul, dar la momentul actual nu mă aflu aici să dau opinii concrete pe un text discutat de mai bine de 140 de ani, tot respectul pentru cine o face totuși)

Cartea asta mi-o făcut suferința bac-ului mai tolerabilă.

The art, the style, their relationship, everything about this manga is so beautiful and I would like to see more of it soon. Hopefully in the future volumes, we'll get more background to their connection and what will become of them.

M-am așteptat să meargă într-o direcție total diferită față de cum a ajuns să fie. Totuși o construcție complexă a literaturii.

Pentru oamenii care consideră că această carte avea nevoie de perspectiva Otiliei, ați pierdut esența romanului. Sunt conștientă că este un produs al timpului său dar calitatea scrierii și efortul depus pentru complexitatea personajelor (chiar dacă superficial ar putea fi tipare) m-au pus să-mi regândesc recenzia inițială. Roman reușit și întreg iubit.

Și acum, după 8 ani de la prima ei citire, încă mă face să plâng.

I think this book showed me a new perspective about life, family, friends and sexuality. This book was and it is one of my fave books.

I realised i can't listen to audiobooks with smut.
