A favorite piece of nonfiction,  bringing together a wide range of sources, while still having momentum and compelling narrative.   Learned so much, felt like reading a people's history for the Troubles period in Ireland.

Listened as an audiobook which gave it another dimension as well, recommend.

After reading Say Nothing, this book complimented it by providing a first person perspective during the Troubles period for Ireland and “those people over the water”.

Another one of my favorite environmental science books - It is an accessible and informative summary of research of polar ice cores to uncover a detailed longer term record of earth's climate.

Definitely has it's moments, when I am wondering if I set my expectations too high.  Definitely the voice of many of my favorite Simpsons writing, this book is at times just as original.

One of my favorite non-fiction books I've read that weaves a substantial narrative on environmental degradation of the Great Lakes.
