Helped me to better understand what it was like to live in England on the home front during WW2. I so very much enjoyed learning to know Emmeline (Emmy), Bunty, Mr. Collins, Charles, Kathleen, Bill and Mrs. Henrietta Bird. Emmy- such pluck! and desire to help others! so caring! What an adventure she had in this book.
