Started really well but went down hill steadily but surely. Who to blame for our own shortcomings as humans? The devil(s) of course! Whenever humanity takes a turn toward its worst, it must be the devil. On the plus side, it is well written.

Punpun was very confused. But he knew that no matter how confused he was, it wouldn't solve anything, and he was even a little angry that hr couldn't be anything but confused.
I tjlhink you can only gian true freedom when you're willing to throw away everything.
A nice read but a bit overrated. Perhaps it has its historical significance which eludes me. Nonetheless, a not-so-bad not-that-good read. A monk in turmoil between the joys of life (for a monk he was getting lots of joys) & the calling of the higher cause.
