I enjoyed premise of the book a lot. The competition between the 2 main characters. The friends participation and support of the couple was enjoyable too. But the heroine was seemed very childish. She was also extremely self-deprecating. She (and her parents) mase so many references to how stupid, thick-headed and not clever she was that I lost count. Then the other characters in the story would have to keep telling her that she wasn't as dumb as she thought she was. It was annoying and made her seem really immature. I got so tired of it, I just couldn't keep reading it.
