An interesting premise and the execution of the story wasn't terrible. But, my god was I ever disappointed in its ending. This was one book I almost threw across the room when I was done with it, and few books have given me that reaction. To put the reader through so much emotional shit just to have to read such an ending left me speechless. Actually, I don't think I'll touch another Picoult book again thanks to that ending.

If you choose to read this book I suggest you bring kleenex and pad the drywall just in case you have a similar reaction.

First read in 1991, reread it for fun. Not as good as I remember it, but probably maturity is clouding my enthusiasm. The ending seemed a little too “Matlock” ending.

A tender and thoughful look at Martin's career. So well-written. I appreciate his brilliance even more now.

This novel sat in a quiet corner of the bookcase in our family's rec room growing up, and was dog eared at all the “special” bits. The story is quite lavish and unbelievable. But, the love scenes? Ahem. It was “enough” for curious young minds...

I found a used copy of Princess Daisy at a thrift store a while back and took it for a re read. Amazing how much of this book I still remember 35 years later!

I somehow got out of having to read this in high school, but recall my sister recounting the plot of a Separate Peace when she was forced to read it. I actually chose to read it on my own.

It's coming-of-age story that I found dated and reminiscent of Catcher in the Rye. I didn't find it that bad, but the writing was a bit heavy, and I can understand why teens wouldn't gravitate to it. I certainly don't want to read it again, but glad I did. The relationship and betrayal between two boys is something that many can identify with. Nothing bad to say about it other than I've enjoyed other novels better than this.
