I'm honestly so sad that I didn't read this when I first read the book in December 2024. But I found it now and oddly enough? It was a nice bit of closure for that story for me 😊

Holy plot twist! Idk what I enjoyed more. The abused animals killing their abusers, that little love triangle between Desmond, King and Marcie. The fact that Desmond was the reason Aven couldn't go back to Scotland or the fact that Aven was the long lost brother and NOT Quinn! I definitely didn't see that tidbit coming but I feel like the fact Aven used an axe as his weapon of choice should have been my clue 😅 I mean Quinn being blonde with green eyes and a strange turmeric allergy should have been the other but no matter.

I will admit though. I did clock the turmeric allergy. It wasn't until Desmond said Quinn's mom was a junkie who would sell herself for her addiction did I realize: snap Quinn is his!

I'm so glad that she found her mom though. It was a textbook Cold Case dumping ground scenario but a secret tunnel is a secret tunnel and I love when everything is so thought out.

I'm very anxious and curious to see how this will all play out with the Carter siblings honing in and finally having a family reunion with Daddy Carter 👀

I absolutely devoured this audiobook in roughly 24 hours (I work 10 hr days at work so I listen to books at work but not at home). I had been waiting to listen to this because it was the last book in the series. Imagine my surprise and sheer giddiness to see that a fourth book in this series had recently dropped 🥰

I legit laughed out loud again at this series and the plot was absolutely plotting. I was on the edge of my seat for Frankie and Maverick. I knew who she was for Bennett and Ezra though.

Was NOT expecting King to be a fellow killer or for Frankie's mother to be a legit PoS. 👀

The ending! 😭😭

Okay but like. I can't believe it's over?! Charlie boy with his insecurities and Imposter Syndrome always vying for his narcissistic father's approval 😭

And don't even get me started on Nova and the her bubble wrapped heart (boy did that hit me in the feels). When I was younger I definitely felt the same way she did. How they got together is probably the best out of the 4 books and that ending with the way everyone petitioned him to stay in Inglewild permanently and the way he asked to take Nova's last name? 😭😭

God I wanna read this entire series all over again. It was so beautiful and further solidifies my desire to live in a small town ❤️

Caleb x Layla are my new favorites. Hands. Down. They are literally how me and my fiancé started out: me scared at how easy it was to be with him, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Me, accepting crumbs for so long from losers so when a genuine man walked into my life it triggered tf outta me. So grateful for my patient man who quiets my fears even almost 2 years later 😭

Also. Charlie was peaking my interest the entire book. lol I'm so glad his book is next 👀👀
