This book is a lot of things, but it wasn't good. I loved the dioramas, that subplot was so cool. And yet they never really made use of it.

A little bit of Tainted Cup, a little bit of Babel... if you're looking for more 'dark academia' fantasy books that aren't in a school setting, this is it. The main characters are wonderful and grow so much over the course of the book. The world feels lived in. The writing is easy to follow without feeling boring.
