But truthfully, I sought the greatest horror of them all. Despite my denial, I courted death; I made love to death.

I'll have to admit that I haven't even read the original Carmilla, and yet I jumped straight into this...
Safe to say that I'll be picking up the original sooner rather than later! (Edit: Looks like Hungerstone's next, actually... oops? I've also read that the original Carmilla is supposed to be more of a cautionary tale, so it'll be pretty interesting to see how it differs from the retellings.)

And while I did enjoy this, it still started to become a little bit too fast-paced for me after around the 40% mark. Definitely wouldn't have minded an additional 100 pages, but I guess that's pretty typical of me at this point.
