After really enjoying Bury Our Bones, I thought I'd try Addie as I heard the writing and vibes were similar and I can definitely agree with that.
I've read the Shades of Magic trilogy by the same author and didn't end up loving it so I'm glad these books worked better for me.
I will say I found this way too long for what it was, it was good but felt like it was dragged out a bit too much.

Not what I was expecting but I'm glad I went in blind and just let myself be carried along by the story. Definitely odd, but in a good way. It feels like the type of book that people will get different things from, for a small book there are a lot of things to connect to.

After really enjoying book 1, this was a bit of a disappointment.
The pacing felt really off in this one, some elements felt rushed or glossed over then others drawn out unnecessarily. By then end I barely cared and just wanted it to end. 😒

This was definitely a case of right book, right time. It perfectly hit in terms of atmosphere, just as it turned to a cold and grey October. It was a great mix of darker witchy elements but with a slightly lighthearted tone. I really enjoyed this from start to finish.
It was my first T. Kingfisher and won't be my last.

This wasn't quite the level of KoD and AoM for me, they were my favourites in the series (for now). There were some WTF moments, some absolutely out there chapters which made my head spin but it there were some really touching moments with Cassandra which I really enjoyed.
Bring on SUT!
