This one was emotional and had the usual funny moments, but where's the mystery? Got completely lost with the character arcs.
Let's just say there were some tears shed. Such a touching story of a quirky cat and a caring human companion as they travel to different places and find joy in each other's company. A must-read!
Wow, what a rollercoaster! This book really impressed me on so many levels. Firstly, the writing. The author does an amazing job of keeping the reader on their toes. You are constantly wondering “what's happening? What's about to happen?”. This suspense-ridden feeling lingers till the end. Thematically, the author plays with several aspects of the horror and suspense genres. The premise seems at the outset pretty straightforward: the protagonist is taking a trip with her boyfriend to meet his parents on a cold and windy day. She has been seeing this boy for a few weeks now and she's planning to drop a bomb on him - “I'm thinking of ending things”, but she's conflicted. What ensues forms the rest of the plot. I can't go into too much detail as this would spoil the plot. All I can say is, go into this one with an open mind. You won't be disappointed.

While I loved the premise and the concept of the murder mystery tied in with time, the book had too many characters. I could not keep track of who was who. I had to refer to the character list at least 15 times. This convoluted plot of repeated events, slew of characters and a rather lengthy page count (this should not have been a 400+ page read!), made it hard to enjoy the whodunnit aspect of the book. Towards the end, despite the reveal of the murderer, I was truly exhausted. I think I must have switched places with Aiden by the end of this read
Saw the twist at the 50% mark. Fairly generic & annoying characters (especially Louise) sums up this book.

It doesn't matter WHO did it but HOW it was done - this basically sums up the book. You know the killer fairly early in the book. How he/she did it is the crux of the book.
I felt like I read two different stories once the twist was revealed. The transition was rather jarring, but overall a fairly good thriller.
2.5 rounded up
Honestly quite predictable. A lot of plot points borrowed from Agatha Christie novels but executed badly. Hated the “convenient” element that lead to the twist
