A really incredible book. The plot is really just an absurd pretext to explore the books main focus. Which is the amour of information-overload and societal norms that are built around a violent upward transfer of wealth and power. The wide ranging tangents are disarmingly prosaic and bathetic.
This book has a compelling but disturbing way of making you realise things, that on some level, you already know.
Also at times it is very funny
