Logical, organized and clear case for Fossil Fuels. That being said, the book is way too long. Also a turn-off is the constant use of accurate but inflated terms, such as “ultra cost-effective” rather than “effective” or “human flourishing” rather than “flourishing”.

Vast compendium of mini-biographies, many of which are not all that clear. It's striking how so many authors are the product of terrible homes, families, alcoholics, etc.

Fun but should have been edited down, unlike the film.

I'm a big Russ Roberts fan so I am very disappointed with this book. Certainly some nuggets here but overall preachy and repetitive.

Obviously required a lot of research. Still, the feeling is a little muddled, due mostly to the life of the protagonist.

I would have given this book 4.5 stars, but that was not a choice so I decided to go up, not down.
It really is a magnificent work. I learned so much about the Founders that I never knew and had to re-evaluate many. I was able to see the complexity of Constitutional issues in a new way and appreciated seeing the situation as the Founders saw it, not as we see it with perfect hindsight. I like that the author challenges the reader to find mistakes. I also liked the way he translated things into contemporary English.
The deficits were simply the size and prolixity. Sometimes the author went too deep into the weeds for my liking. And I have no way to know if his portrayals are accurate. But still, very well worth the time.

Fun. Delivers exactly what you would suspect.

Better than its two predecessors but still no Reacher magic

I'm glad I didn't know Mary Rodgers. Enough grist for several therapists here.

Fun but Eli is kind of a jerk in this one.

Tedious and cutesy, but not as charming as the author thinks.

Good in the series, a little repetitive and the second person narration is jarring.

Very erudite recounting of how Rashi's commentary was received and eventually won the Jewish world.

Heartbreaking, informative and dry. The perfect storm of a heartless and antisemitic president and a power-hungry, arrogant and foolish Rabbi costs tens of thousands of Jewish lives.

I really like the topics this author covers, but the writing is so uneven - sometimes clear, sometimes not understandable. It would also help if the illustrations could appear on the same page as the explaining text.

The story was good but waaayyyy too much of Jane thinking.

This one was long and felt a little cut and pasted. But Benn is still an excellent writer.

The personal stuff was interesting but the detailed explanations and tangents rather dull.

A quirky and lively novel. Interesting but I'm not sure I got the point.

Better than the average thriller. My only minor cavil is that the author should have consulted someone to create realistic Israeli names.

Pleasant enough

I respect the author's intelligence and commitment to Israel. What I found lacking in this book was clarity. Stories were told without an obvious conclusion. It would have really helped if he had made a bullet list at the end of each chapter or the end of the book and listed his points.
I also don't think his reading list was wide enough. I would have recommended “The Chosen Few” by Botticini and Eckstein. In my opinion. Jewish continuity is driven by two things: Education and Observance

It was great getting to know George Washington and I would have given this book 5 stars, but there was too much personal information about the author. Also, why can't he use the perfectly acceptable word “slave”? He always calls them “enslaved persons”. Would you call workers “employed persons”? Or walkers “mobile persons”? Makes no sense

Not her best work. The killer is obvious and there is much repetitiveness (Chee/Manualito in love, scenery).
