These books are Hunger Games meets Red Rising.

Super tropey. Predictable. But sooooo fun. Can't wait to read the next one!!

Well, that escalated quickly.

Love a fantasy book that draws on mythical traditions that I'm not familiar with.

But I have so many questions about some of the characters.

A very sedate spy novel with exactly the sort of ending I expected from nearly the beginning. But it's very well constructed.

Meh. A straightforward uncomplicated supernatural romp. No mystery. No twist. Kinda boring.

But the audiobook reader is really talented!

A very cute story with a relatively high number of references to farts and also a happy ending.

I'm giving this book four stars because I think it's incredible well-written. It's subtle and complex. It has a lot of depth and it made me think about a lot of things.

But I don't like this book because I especially hate the narrator.

I enjoyed this book very much, but I can't decide if I liked the way all the strings tied together so neatly or not.

Is this some kind of joke?

It's a retelling of Othello set in the sixth grade. All the tensions of youth and racism are there. And it's heart breaking and brilliantly rendered.

I didn't love the style of storytelling here, but it was overall a lot of fun.

Uuuuuuuggghhhhh... I'm going to have to read some light-hearted fantasy ish or something. This is SUUUUPER intense. Big feels. Much trauma.

The constant harping on werewolves and pack hierarchy started grating on me in this book. But it's a fun beach read kind of book.

This just isn't for me.

I picked it up because I've heard that this series ties together a lot of the crazy things from other books, but I just don't have it in me to continue with it. This book was enough.

This book is nuts.

This isn't quite as lush and fun as The Dresden Files and it's not as sexy as Anita Blake. But the characters are more likable and the magic more focused than the Iron Druid.

I was looking for a fun, easy fantasy story and this definitely scratched the itch.

Modern history isn't really my thing, but I was curious. This is an interesting biography mostly for the psychological emphasis in the story.

A pretty fun read, but solving the mystery really didn't seem to involve a lot of actual detective work and I'm not sure they actually DID solve the mystery. But I guess that's why it's a series.

I thought this was a novel, but I'm kind of glad it turned out to be a short story/novella because it's a little too cute for my taste.

Absolute trash writing. I got two or three chapters in and had to stop because I couldn't stomach how bad the writing is.

This will be my first and last experience with James Patterson. His popularity will remain the true mystery.
