P: 2 - Absolutely inane. I got so frustrated every time Ruby became so obsessed about what randoms were saying about her. Especially as everything being said was so utterly ridiculous and everyone who knew her could see past it. Did not like part 3, I didn't feel like it particularly added anything.
E: 1.5 - I couldn't get over my lack of empathy for Ruby, my frustration with her reactions and my sheer disdain for the multitude of crazy takes by the characters. I had so many "weird" highlights.
A: 3 -
C: 1 -
H: 2.5 -
P: 5 - Well thought out. So many pieces tied in together so nicely. Was intriguing, interesting and nothing felt missing.
E: 5 - I always felt like once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. And, it takes a lot of enjoyment to finish a book this long.
A: 5 - There were so many beautiful lines. Especially anything any of the northerners said. And the themes of each girl, their relationships with their mothers, and then their own relationship to motherhood. Every girl's story was based on the same themes, yet all so unique.
C: 5 - Each character was so fleshed out and so enjoyable. There was never a POV I was annoyed to read.
H: 5 - With such themes, talent and all the romance and friendships, this strikes close to the heart.
