This was weird. As much as I enjoy true crime stuff Dahmer has never really been one of the popular ones that I have watched/read about. Art style is not for me. I did really appreciate the resources in the back. No one can say Derf didn't do his research and kept great records of what he used from each source for each part. This is written in a way that you almost feel bad for Dahmer. Could things have turned out different if he would have any type of help? The 70s to me as a millennial has always seemed to be the decade of serial killers for this country and with how much people didn't pay attention to the world or people around them, it makes sense how it was so easy for so many of them to go on for so long.
extremely cozy and relaxing. probably the most peaceful thing i've read in a long time or ever.
i also enjoyed her authors note at the end. i would love to also take off a year from work and just roam around the country going to bookstores. i would honestly just love working in a bookstore/library environment. i know it's not all reading 24/7 i just find peace among the shelves.
The things I read for reading challenges. If this is a topic you are interested in, maybe you will like it. It is not something that I typically am interested in and if it was longer I probably would have not picked this. I feel like I could enjoy a book on this topic, but this was not the one for me.
Finally! This is a generous 3 stars. This has been on my tbr solely for a bunch of reading challenges, I never had to read it in high school, and I had no intention on actually reading it especially any time soon, but my kids had to read it for school, so I figure now was as good as time as any. My kids 15 & 14 both thought it was decent at least after the second part. For me it was a struggle the entire time. I will never reread this. I will never list it as a recommendation for something. It was boring, it angered me mostly and dude deserved to be stabbed at the end anyways. R.I.P Tom Robinson you shouldn't have been arrested anyways.
Disappointed a little bit. I know partially my fault because I tend to go in blind and I just went off the cover and thought this was going to be more horror than mystery. I didn't hate it; it just wasn't what I was expecting. For a lot of it, it felt just like family TRAUMA with some drama and nothing really progressing. Big fan of spirits getting revenge on people who wrong them even if it takes 100 years, they deserved that. It did go by kind of fast for me but there was also sometimes where I had to stop and double take because I thought I had rewound it, but it really just has some repetitiveness to it.

I love this. Erik is a lot darker I think in the book than the play but his story is even more heartbreaking and I still feel bad for the guy. More so now I think. The ending was not what I expected. The whole thing wasn't what I expected. Even the differences in Christine and Raoul's relationship was amazing. My favorite classic I've read so far.

The real question is, are you judging yourself for not having more capacity than you have?” Eddie tapped on her own chest. “That's what you gotta figure out, in there. Who you're really mad at. Us? Or yourself? And whatever system's got you thinking you have to do or be everything instead of just finding your pocket and fighting from it. Like, imagine if everyone did that—just found their pockets and fought for the revolution however best they could, within their capacity.”
I loved this and my 12 year old loved it too.
