Weird and strange and violent and also amazing and funny and weirdly heartwarming. 

Good read, lots of funny parts as usual. I didn't love this level of the dungeon all that much. 

Overall good story. 
Didn't love the whole Chinese taking the ship arc but otherwise it was good.

Decided to try this one out since it was from the same author as Monk and Robot. Not my cup of tea. Too slow and too much of nothing happening. 

The first quarter tests your patience, but stick with it — the payoff is huge once the town's real nature starts unraveling. Bennett's world-building is ambitious and mostly satisfying, though the book could've been meaningfully tighter; there's a supporting cast that gets more page time than it earns. Still, the core mystery pays off in a genuinely great way.
