[Audiobook narrated by the man himself]

Trust Fry to keep you engaged as he goes on about something as tangled & bizarre as Greek mythology. Makes you wish you had better retention abilities.

Couldn't put it down for the first 40%. Then interest dipped sharply at 60% and failed to recover. It's written in a speculative thriller sort of way albeit without much to reveal. Also the constant analogy-making thesaurus powered writing style gets tedious fairly quickly. If you haven't read it, the only thing you're missing on is some valley goss you can get in a summary. To be fair, I would have liked it more if it ended at the 50% mark, the second half draaaags.

Abandoning. Interesting plot but too slow for me.

Gave up after 80% (tried hard). It's like someone converted their calendar/memo book into an ‘autobiography' by adding a few lines of wisdom here and there. Haven't said this about a book in a while, but this one bored me to death.

I'd recommend reading a summary of the book.

Also if you listen to the audiobook like I did, it's possible that Americans repeatedly pronouncing foreign names incorrectly with such brazen confidence might become a trigger for you too.

Excellent! Highly recommend if you want to get started with user research or are already doing it.

As always, I was at the edge of my seat & clueless about whodunnit till the very end. However this one's dull in comparison with some of her other work.

A grudging 4 stars. While the writing is splendid and the plot is fairly interesting, I found this tedious in parts and definitely a tad too long.

Surprisingly useful.

Could have been an article. Current phase of life made the concept-repetition-through-examples bearable.

Abandoning. What's a polite way to say, I was thoroughly bored?

3.5 actually. Loved the story, disliked the man.

Could not put it down. Very well written.

Had to fight my sunk cost bias a whole lot but gave up after 50%. We need a rotten tomatoes to Goodreads' IMDb rating system ffs.

An incredible life story, incredibly well told.

Loved it.

really inspired writing.

Okay we all really need to figure our shit out especially how to make sure that we don't fall EVER.

Supreme in its practical knowledge. I found in it the stuff I looked for in other startup books.

An example of how a lack of practical usefulness can be compensated for with good writing.

Expect every chapter to begin with a quote. And then expect a bunch of more quotes and anecdotes from every famous personality you can think of. Little practical information. Conventional wisdom like ‘Be Present' etc.

Read it if you absolutely love Amy Poehler (I do so I enjoyed it).

This was SO good. Evidence of how strong character writing (just one in this case) can make for a fantastic reading.
