I almost dnf'd so many times. That was rough. The concept of the different worlds was great, but the main character, good lord. His ineptitude was beyond all reason.

I devoured this book, it was so well written. The pacing was on point. The writing was funny, dramatic, and frustrating in the best ways. I always feel weird talking about honesty in fiction but there was a sense of truth and believability to the writing and especially between the main characters, their reactions, self talk, and interactions. I picked this book on a whim and its probably one of my favorite books in 2024. Definitely something I can see my self re-reading in the future.

I took away one star because of the music playlist at the beginning of the book, as well as the songs mentioned at the beginning of almost each chapter. I understood the intent, but for me it was like breaking the 4th wall. They could have been woven into the story more discreetly IMO.
