Oh, I really liked the humor in this. So whimsical! I appreciate that there really isn't any moral, and that it's just here to be a funny little story of a great Dad-daughter duo. 4 lollipop games out of 5.
On the one hand, I appreciate the open ending. On the other hand, I just want all doggos forever to be happy. Thus, I am conflicted on this one.
Don't mind me, just getting teary at work after reading this.
Also, shout-out to the blobfish for being the absolute star of this book/of planet earth in general.

Gosh I love dachshunds. The story could have flowed better, but the pups were cute and I liked the outside backgrounds. 3 doggo duos out of 5.
A very fun one-sitting read, though I had some problems with the....consent issues of a later plot point? I found it a little jarring in an otherwise pulpy-fun horror satire.
Anyway, it will probably be super dated in a year or so, but it was entertaining and got me out of my reading slump! 3.5 :dusty-stick:s out of 5.

Okay, a little more - love the illustrations and love the simple explanations that will hopefully give people a better idea of language surrounding gender and gender identity.

A three star book that I am giving four stars based on the page that said
“Just thinking about your cat soothes lonely times.”
I feel so seen (though, in my case, it's cats plural).
Simple, colorful illustrations and the fun repetitive rhymes make this a great story time book. Also an extremely relatable ending.
I haven't read this book since I was 11 but it still pops into my head every now and then (except I always remember it as The Creepies for some reason, and then I have to Google “weird creatures in backyard + eyeball cover”). This is one of the few books that scared me when I was a wee lass, and I feel like I need to re-read it.
