4.5/5 docked a little because I really hate when the main character's bff (or in this case sister) hides things for the majority of the story. However!!! This was very cute and I did actually tear up a little at the end and I did resonate with Nora's big sister/mom vibes. And the banter!!! Idk that anyone does it better than Emily Henry.
Okay so idk what it is, I enjoyed the premise of the book but then parts of it seemed unnecessary like the fact that she couldn't read the novels and sometimes I felt that the main character was literally so dumb (ie with cell service) but I did want to keep reading to find out what happens. I didn't really care for the romance and I hated the befriending of the ex's new SO what is that about?! Anyways 3.75/5
(I will say I really enjoyed that the horrible ex shares a name with my horrible ex, I found it extremely satisfying
This book has potential but the world building was extremely lacking and every scene was so fast that it was impossible to focus. The last 20% of the book was probably the best part because it felt actually focused for the first time.
I wanted to like the main character but she was all over the place with her feelings. As for the other characters, for as long as the book was, I feel like I learned almost nothing about anyone else.
It's giving horny teenager. I'm assuming it's why this series falls in the smut category and it's just not what I was expecting/wanted given the rest of the series is not like this.
Also someone said in their review that the characters completely change in the last 3 books and I couldn't agree more. I feel like they've become more insufferable and conceited and annoying and it seems like the author just got lazy halfway through.
I'm just annoyed because the series has potential and should've just ended way earlier!!!!
Omg I'm finally done this book was so LONG. I feel like honestly Ruhn & Lidia's storyline should've just been its own book because it felt rushed and unnatural and I feel like it could've been better on its own and then the book would've been sooo much shorter. The last 100 pages saved this from being 3 stars.
Okay 4.5 - the miscommunication started to drive me nuts and sorry but the main character becoming best friends with the ex didn't sit right. Other than that I LOVED this book and resonated with the male main character which I did not think would happen but that made me appreciate it much more.
Also it could've ended after the first conflict resolution I don't think it needed to keep going.
