The Princess Knight is a sparkling blend of romantic drama, sword-swinging adventure, and just the right amount of royal flair. Clía is a delightfully determined heroine, part glitter, part grit, charging into a brutal military academy with her chin up and her heart on the line. The love triangle adds juicy tension, and Ronan's broody-warrior-meets-blonde-princess dynamic is irresistible. Between witty banter, intense duels, and looming war, the story maintains a lively pace and high stakes. A few tropes are familiar, but they're executed with such charm and energy that it's hard not to root for Clía as she fights for love, loyalty, and a killer sword swing.
The God and the Gumiho is a lush, enchanting blend of mythology, romance, and historical intrigue that delivers a slow-burn love story wrapped in magic and betrayal. The dynamic between the immortal gumiho and the fallen god crackles with tension, their pasts tangled in centuries of longing and loss. The Korean folklore elements are beautifully woven into a rich world full of court politics, divine vengeance, and haunting secrets. While the pacing meanders at times, the emotional payoff and lyrical writing make it worth the journey. A captivating tale of love, sacrifice, and what it means to be more than just a myth.
Fire in the Sky is a breathtakingly gorgeous book. I couldn't resist preordering the moment I saw it! From the very first page of the ARC, I was completely hooked, especially when Lord Beast stormed in and made his electrifying demand. Sophie Jordan masterfully blends dragons, romance, and high-stakes intrigue, creating a world that feels both dangerous and intoxicating. Tamsyn's journey from royal scapegoat to unexpected bride is full of tension, passion, and secrets that kept me turning the pages. While there were a few moments I wished for deeper character exploration, the romance and epic fantasy elements shine brightly. If you love dragons and swoon-worthy romantasy, this book is absolutely worth the read!
The League of Dangerous Young Ladies is a witty, adventurous historical fantasy filled with clever heroines, secret plots, and plenty of charm. I loved the combination of high society expectations and daring escapades, with the characters constantly finding themselves tangled in situations far more dangerous than they anticipated. The friendships were one of the strongest parts of the story, adding warmth and humor alongside the action and intrigue. There's a wonderful sense of fun throughout, but the book also gives its characters meaningful growth as they learn to challenge the roles society expects them to play. This was an entertaining and empowering adventure that balances heart, humor, and excitement beautifully.
This is specifically for the ARC, not the actual book:
Unfortunately, in its current state, it's nearly unreadable with no clear chapter markers, several errors, and difficult spacing. Mine also had a mix of fonts from regular to italics. The premise overall is very interesting, as someone who has family members and a family history of schizophrenia, I was curious. I would be willing to give this another shot in the future.
